What to drink

Hi,

I am looking for ideas of what to drink in the evening before I go to bed that is tasty. What I drink now is beer and wine and hot cider. I am trying to stick to one beer when I get home and a glass of wine with dinner. I love hot cider, but I am trying to stop all fruit juice intake. I like caffenaited tea, and I am going to start drinking decaf tea, if I can find one I like. I find herbal teas to be awful.

What are your suggestions?

Thanx for your help.

Hi Anonamoose,

Cut out the alcohol altogether, it's so much better when you drink it for a special occasion rather than just cus it's there. If you're trying to lose weight alcohol is the worse thing to drink as it dehydrates you and slows down your metabolism, also it's packed full of empty calories so if you're counting calories 1 or 2 beers can destroy all the hard work you put in during the day. I found this out last year as I worked my butt off running and exercising and my fat loss was absolutely minimal, maybe half a stone, if that.

If you drink for the relaxing effects to put you to sleep at night, then may I suggest as a replacement a nice hot cup of Horlicks? I tend to drink this about half an hour before I plan on sleeping and it really does the trick. The amount of times i've dozed off without even switching the TV off, and you get a great night of uninterrupted sleep with none of the fuzzy headed feeling the next morning that an alcoholic beverage can leave you with.

I totally agree with this. A lot of people find that alcohol is what's holding them back from weight loss. I love chai tea and warm milk, or plain hot water too. Sometimes you have to take the less tasty choice if you want to be low cal.
