What to do after a jog?

I went jogging for about 1 hour this morning at 4am, it was great, but when I got back home I wanted to maintain the whole active mode but I wasn't sure what I could do so I just did a few sit-ups/pushups. What kind of stuff should you do after you go running?

Stretch while your muscles are still all warmed up. id have a snack or breakfast( i dunno if you eat before or not but id have a little something just for energy when you get back). then you could do your push ups, sit ups, squats, lunges, pilates.(good for you 1hr jog at 4am talk about dedication! :) )

Great time to do yard work/household chores! If you have more energy, you'll probably get it done faster than you would normally. Also, it makes for a good cool down.

i would actually wait about an hour after returning from your run before eating. It is said that after doing a decent level of cardio, your body will continue to burn fat for up to 2 hours after exercise ... however, this process is halted if you eat (especially carbs).

Push/situps are definately really good to do after, but you won't get as much benefit as you would if you did it on a day where you didn't run. A better suggestion, tho .. don't get up so damn early ;)

you right Cndboy,i do cardio at night and drink a protein shake when i get back, when i did cardio in the am, well id jog on an empty stomache and eat about 30 min later(only bc i was starving! :p )

I've never heard of that before, AllCdnBoy. If that's true then it's definitely worth it not to eat after I exercise, I'll start waiting 2 hours to eat now. Thanks!
