what time of the day is good for workout?

I was wondering, does it matter what time of the day I workout ? Every day I wake up around 8 or 9 AM, I usually start my workout late at night starting at 11 PM for about an hour until midnight and after that I go to bed. Lately I've been experiencing some sleeping problems but I don't know if it's connected with the workout. Is there a time of the day when it's optimal and best to have a workout, does it make a difference what time of day the workout is done? . Also, should I workout before or after having a meal. I workout mostly my abs , chest and biceps if it's of any importance? tnx a lot
 
I've always heard it's best to workout in the morning. I've tried working out in the morning, and working out in the afternoon, and it doesn't seem any different to me. I've never worked out before bed though. so i don't know about that one.
 
It could very well be that your late night workouts are keeping you up at night, or giving your problems sleeping. Try changing your workout time and see that helps you sleep at night.

I read in one of my magazines fitness or shape, that its okay to work out after you eat or before you eat it just depends on you, and how your digestion system works. For example I cannot work out on an empty stomic, I always eat a banana on my way to the gym.
 
working out late at night will increase your adrenaline and that is not something you want right before sleep... you will not rest with all that adrenaline pumping... i would workout before a big meal or at least an hour or 2 after one... i always like to eat something very small before i go to the gym, an apple, or a few slices of cheese...
