What the world record for daily calorie intake?

Some really obese people do like 10,000 calories a day. I'm just wondering what the most calories ever taken in one day has been.

I watched an ABC special about a month ago and it was titled '33,000 calories a day' Darn crazy.

Seeing as how that would mean they would gain 10 pounds a day---yeah, just a little unhealthy. :)

Professional cyclists can consume upwards of 7,000 calories a day. But they are also on a bike for 6-7 hours a day, so the intake is relative.

I once saw a study saying that sumo wrestlers eat 15,000 calories a day. I don't know how valid that is, but they are big guys and yes, sumo wrestling is a form of exercise.

I saw a show on TLC or Discovery Health. Some guy was consuming close to 30,000 calories a day but didn't know why he weighed 800lbs. The guy was so big, he couldn't even get out of bed to get this food but his wife said hes a normal healthy eater:rolleyes:

Is it even possible to consume 30,000 calories in a day? I don't think I would be able to consume 10,000 even if I spent the whole day eating.

The guy was eating plates and plates of food for every meal, all day. Pretty bad though, imagine cleaing up the "results". The guy can't even leave his bed, must have an industrial sized bed pan.:p

I don't envy his poor wife as I read some guy was so over weight he slept in his mess and had maggots in his flesh that the ambulance crew felt ill having to move his bulk. It's very sad! Some people just don't know when they have eaten enough.

Oh man, and I struggle getting over 1200 cals!

I wonder why they consume so much though?
When I was on meds for anxiety I gained 12 kilo's cause it made me hungry all the time, maybe they don't know when to stop like I did on those meds?

Some of the bigger athletes like powerlifters/strongmen will eat up to 12,000 cals/day but I doubt that's every day. I remember reading that Mariusz Pudzianowski would eat 1/2 lb chocolate before a workout.

Yes.... 'Super Mariusz' is my strongman idol :) He's always talking about his crazy diet with LOTS of chocolate...

But then again, the guy is just a genetic freak to begin with + the fact that he trains many hours a day, 6 days a week !

Anyway, all that chocolate doesn't seem to be hurting his physique :)

I'm a pretty big eater myself. Just finishing this latest cut cycle, eating 3700 cals a day. I'm stable at about 4000, and plan to bump it up to 4300 a day here soon, to start a long, slow, steady bulk cycle, for about 15 lbs {hoping I can make 3/4's of that lean muscle}.

Then again, I ate 6000-8000 a day for close to 20 years. {of pure, hideous garbage, I should add}. Back then, I think I could have ate 10,000 or 12,000 pretty easily.... depending on how emptied I could get my stomach, before I started.

I've read that Micael Phelps eat's a staggering amount of calories but I find it hard to imagine he would eat like Big Mariusz.

Make you wonder what a common training amount of calories is for different types of athletes.
