I'm so frustrated!!!

I started dieting hardcore in June, and since then I've lost 38 pounds. But then, I just saw a picture of me taken last weekend and I still look like a cow!!! I can't see a difference!!!

Here's me at 225 pounds

And here's me last weekend at 186.5

My ultimate goal is still 30 pounds away, but it's hard to stay motivated when I've worked so hard and come so far and it still seems as though nothing has really changed

I see it now...I can see a difference, its harder to tell on yourself, im the same way..Ive lost 30 and I have to really look to see a difference, as it is, I will only take face pics cause I dont like my body pics.

Honestly, it's difficult to tell due to what you're wearing. Layered clothing always hides our God given curves. ;) (Trust me, I do the same damn thing when I'm bumming it out.) If anything, find the same outfit you took the 225lb pic in and take a pic of you in that. I'm sure you'll not only see a difference, but you'll feel it.

For the longest time I (weighed in at 225) thought I looked the same... I mean, I was weighing in at 185lbs. (Sound familiar? haha) I then tried on my wedding gown (married when I was ~210-215lbs) and whoah damn... there's a HUGE difference. It just takes time for our minds to absorb it all in, so don't get discouraged, doll. Also... from now on, start taking monthly measurements to record progress. Congrats with the weight loss, girly.

i can see a difference in the pictures....

have you taken measurements to see a difference there - or a clothing size difference?

I know when I look in the mirror I find it hard to see a difference -but there is one.. remember that you're i this for the long haul... so celebrate those 40lbs you've dropped and look forward to where you'll be at the next 30 you want to lose...

have you taken measurements to see a difference there - or a clothing size difference?

I'm following the Jenny Craig program, so I have taken measurements, and I forget exactly where I started and where I am now but they have gone down. And I do feel a difference in my clothes... it's just... my face in those pictures. I feel like my face in the horse picture looks like a dude... I have a huge chin/neck area and it's like, why isn't that changing????

But I'm keeping going. I have so far to go so I'm going to try to keep my chin(s) up.

I see a huge difference in your midsection and face, don't get discouraged your doing great 40 lbs in 4 months that is awesome!!Gl on the rest of your goal and congrats on 40lbs.

I wouldn't say you had a masculine face at all... some people just have naturally roundish faces... and there's not a lot that can be done about it -except make the most of it and perhaps change the hairstyle a bit (I would say make up tricks can also helpb, but I'm not a makeup person)

IN all the weight I've lost, my neck has only lost 2 inches around... it's not graceful or long or anything... so there are (and I can't believe I can say this and believe it) there are fashion tricks to use to make the neck appear longer.. v-necks help a lot.

So basically -long story short -you've done a lot of work and you know you've got results.. so play around with different fashion options and you might like what you're seeig better...

Morning,

I definitely see the results in your face.

Ask yourself...have you noticed any difference in the way your clothing fits? How about your shoes? How do your joints feel? etc.etc.etc.

I agree with the other posts - go by inches lost. I remember I started with the sexy shape of an overripe eggplant - 42-41-42, I believe. 40 pounds later, I'm now at 36-29-35 - not the ultimate but hey, getting much much more womanly (instead of vegetably) shaped.

Don't choose to get discouraged for surface reasons! You have already witnessed great success in losing 40 pounds - keep up the great work.

Enjoy,

Barbara

i can see a difference. The main problem a dieter faces is really looking at their weight loss. Psychologically we see our old selves instead of the new look. All that matters though is if you feel better, health wise. Stop worrying about the way you look, do you feel better when you wake up. Do you feel more energized? Can you do things you weren't able to do 6 weeks ago?

keep going, your looking great!

ps- dont call yourself fat! your doing a great job

Hey, it truly looks to me like you are *narrower* now. Your hoodie makes it a little hard to see, but you definitely take up less space. Also I think your hips/legs are shrinking? Anyway, don't despair; keep up the GREAT work! You'll look killer when you reach your goal, sweetie! :hurray:

Thanks to all of you who've posted thus far... it helps to hear it from other people, and I've got a little more will to keep going now.

I've taken one of these -->:chillpill:

But yes, thank you all so much for your supportive words!! They mean the world to me!!!

I know that feeling. I was wondering the exact same thing about myself then one day I went to try on smaller jeans that I had at the back of the closet and they fit so I knew I was losing. Everyone kept telling me but, I could not see it. Remember, you are your own worst critic! I see a difference in your face and mid section......you do look thinner......to me. I swear to you. Keep going, you will be glad you did!

I know exactly how you feel! I started at 182 lbs and I didn't see a difference until I got in the 130's. Don't forget you see yourself every single day in the mirror and your likely looking for changes every time you see yourself. One thing that really helped me is I took some bra and panty pics after every 10 lb loss and then by comparing them, I could see a change even though I didn't see it in the mirror.

I know it's frustrating but your doing a tremendous job! Don't give up hope because the day will come when you'll look in the mirror and say WOW!

Yeah, I hear ya on the no "visable" change thing. I too feel like I don't look any different when I look in the mirror. I went from 376lbs to 330lbs in 4.5 months.

I don't look that much different but my belt is notched higher then ever, my pants have issues staying in place, and I can see my feet looking down now. It's these little things that make me keep pushing it. 45 more lbs to go.

I think you are looking good, and it will only get better.

The same sort of thing is happening to me, when I lose weight, I still look just the same, but just a smaller version. Be assured: You have lost in your arms, legs, hands, feet, face, neck, and all around your organs. You body will only get rid of that junk around your middle as a LAST resort, and you are right there now. Hang tough!!!!

I see a difference in your pics but I hear ya! From the pics it seems your body shape is similar to mine (top heavy) and it's hard to tell when I lose and gain. It seems my body goes through a noticeable change at 160. So how r u now? I think I'll watch you for inspiration. lol

Hey THERE MISSY....DOING a GREAT JOB.... ...WHEN are you gonna post some progress..I've seen you've lost a lot more since those....! Can't Wait! You look GREAT!
