What the heck?

So yesterday out of curiosity I weighed myself.
176lbs. WHAT? I gained a pound?

Ok, first I thought, it could be muscle, so yay, I guess.
I weighed myself today just to be sure, 175lbs.

I need to find a tape measurer to measure my waist-someone said the scale might not show numbers right away but the tape measurer might.

what just happened there? I worked my butt off all week and lost..nothinglol

i'm not discouraged, i'mjust confused:confused:

1 pound of flucuation is absolutely normal! I wish I only went up and down 1 pound! I got my period Sunday and shot up to 149 from 144 in ONE DAY! This morning I am at 143!! Don't stress if you go a week with no loss...I've gone MANY WEEKS with nothing, it'll kick back in!! Don't worry about it, it's all normal! :)

I don't know if other people have this same thing, but when I am eating a very healthy diet, my salt intake is quite small. Since salt makes one retain water, if I eat something salty (fast food for instance) my weight will shoot up, I'm sure that it's not fat, but water weight I am gaining.

The water weight is lost soon enough, unless I go more seriously off the diet, but as long as my transgressions are short termed, I'm back on track a day or so later. But the water causes unwelcome weight fluctuations.

I find it's best not to weigh myself too often, and always at the same time each day, before I've eaten anything.

I weigh myself everyday. there can be a 1-4 lb "gain" depending on what I eat. salt, the actual weight of food (try weighing yourself before a meal, then after), etc.

don't worry about it unless it's a few days of constant gain.

Screw weight and screw scales. Let mirrors and centimeters (inches for you americans) be the judge! :)

Weight is unstable. You can gain a pound in water one day and another day it can differ because of the time of day. Don't bother with it, at least not every day because that's just unnecessary.

I've given up daily weigh-in. I weigh myself once a week to see better results (hopefully). Even then sometimes I have no weight loss, and I have a lot to lose. In a way it encourages me to do better the coming week.
