what should i change here

Currently i have changed my diet to make it slightly healthier, was well as working out 4 times a week (2.5-3 hours with both cardio and cycling weights). My diet is usually some what around this:
breakfast- bowl of cereal (vector) or oatmeal with brown sugar \
snack- half of a sandwich
lunch- sandwhich
snack- other half of sandwich
snack- fruit or protien shake
supper- meat of some sort and lots of veggies
snack- crackers and cheese or a protien bar
It would help a lot if someone could recomend anything, i am willing to change this dramatically. I have been trying this compared to my old unhealthy diet, but have not lost any weight or fat, if anything i feel i have gained more!

Hi...I just added my comments after your meals.

breakfast- bowl of cereal (vector) or oatmeal with brown sugar...Sometimes I mix protein powder into my oatmeal OR eat egg whites along with your oatmeal

snack- half of a sandwich...Use whole-grain bread for the sandwich and pack on the meat for protein

lunch- sandwich...same as above

snack- other half of sandwich...same as above

snack- fruit or protien shake...if you just have fruit I would add some cottage cheese or some kind of protein with the fruit

supper- meat of some sort and lots of veggies

snack- crackers and cheese or a protien bar...I wouldn't eat crackers right before bed...I would just have a scoop of protein or something if you're hungry

How many calories per day are you eating? How much do you weigh? It's hard to say what else you need to change without having more information about you.

Good luck :)

Sorry!

Oops, I re-read your post and saw how much you weigh. However, I still don't know how many calories you're currently eating because I don't know what kind of sandwiches you're eating, how much oatmeal, etc.

Thanks!

hiya - looks not bad diet - but do you eat the exact same thing every single day? don't you get bored?

some of my suggestion you might want to add....
Porridge (you guys call it oatmeal right?...we practically invented the stuff!)try it with a spoonful of jam, handful of berries, dash of cinnamon....whatever takes your fancy on the day.

snacks - i LOVE hoummus, with apple, cucumber, carrots, oatcakes, crispbreads -again whatever takes my fancy. if you are craving carbs take the oat option - if not try fruit with the hoummus. or if you don't like hummous, try cottage cheese as suggested. Do you guys get organic natural bio yoghurt in your town? if so this is a lovely snack, you can add fruit or muesli?
you say fruit but do you mean just an apple or a banana? there is a rainbow of fruit out there - each with it's own life giving properties. i love kiwi's and raspberries all mixed up...mmm yummy!

Lunch - here is really where you can push the boat out - why not try a brown rice salad (egg, rice, green beans, pulses, sweetcorn, cherry toms, button mushrooms) or substitute the rice for wholemeal pasta.
You could also try a nice thick homemade soup, pitta bread stuffed with tuna, salad and salsa, multigrain bagel with chicken breast, erm....crayfish salad...baked potato and tuna...the list is almost endless. buy a stash of tupperware dishes and you are good to go.

dinner - my top tip is buy a george foreman - i don't know what i did before i had one! you can grill salmon, trout, chicken, turkey...in minutes - its great!
you could also try a rainbow of veggies added to a wok and stir fry it. feel free to add some chicken strips or turkey chunks. just be sure you use a good quality oil, not too much soy and plenty of veggies. my fav mix is spinach, cherry toms, button mushrooms, baby corn, green beans and chicken with a spicy tom schezaun sauce...

i couldn't say why you are not losing, maybe like me your body is just being a little more stubborn than others - but what you need to remember is variety really is the spice of life. be sure you are eating a wide range of foods that rich in vitamins and minerals that will heal your body. although calories are important...if you are eating all of the stuff above, without adding loads of mayo or naughty things then you will be getting your daily calorie intake as well as loads of nutrients that will help your body work better and harder at the fitness side!

any other help i can give - let me know.

xx
