What Really Matters?

So, I guess I'm about 2-3 weeks into my new diet. A few pounds have fallen off, but the weight loss has really slowed in the past few days. Should I be counting more than just calories? It seems my diet of veggies and lean meats is already about as low as I can go as far as calories goes. I'm consuming about 2,000-2,500 calories a day now. According to some of the online calculators, my body burns 4,000-4,500 calories a day at a sedentary rate, plus activity. And I've only cheated once, a steak bagel and sausage mcmuffin at McD's for about 1000 calories and change. So where should I focus here? I'm still too fat to go running, my old pasttime, but I am on my feet all day at work so I get plenty of exercise walking for the time being. Once I lose some more weight, my tired achy feet will be able to tolerate some more exercise. But for now, what else should I do, diet wise?

I hate to ask you this, but how much do you weigh?? according to the biggest looser book, you shouldn't be having 2500 cals a day unless you weigh real close to 300 pds. I weigh 181 pds and I eat 1200 cals a day, but thats me.

Another thing to consider is water intake. This is really really important b/c if you are not getting enough water, your body will hold onto what it has, sometimes this can be several pounds.

also, if your not comfortable going to a gym, you should invest in some excersize videos at home.

Hope that helps some??

I weighed in at 258.5 today. According to an online calculator, I burn 4048 calories per day sleeping 24 hours, according to my 258 lbs, 28 year old male. Add on activity and I burn even more.

Ah, your a man too..ok, men need more cals then woman. Sooo...maybe your cals arn't the problem. Are you drinking water?

Also, maybe its just a plateu your going through. What you can do to break that up, is to change around your routine. If you are excersizing at night, do it in the morning....ect.
