Just started focusing on my weight problem 2-3 weeks ago. I decided to start with logging my food intake, modifying my diet to a sustainable caloric deficit of healthy foods, and jog. Jogging is free and I love getting out early in the morning.
So when I started, I quickly found jogging was not possible. I was too far out of shape. Now I can jog 1.5 miles with no problem. It's not much, but it's a great improvement in just a few sessions!!
Here's my dilemma... I feel I should be doing something else, although fitting it in my schedule is difficult. My work schedule is 7 days a week. Every other day is a 12 hour shift - 4 am to 4 pm. Then the other days are 8 am to 4 pm. These 8 hour days are when I jog before work.
I feel I should start doing some other cardio type exercise... crunches, push ups, etc. Is there anything wrong with doing these in the evenings? Should I do them the same day I jog or on opposite days? What are some good routines to do? Jumping jacks? Jump rope?
