what is your goal, how did u choose it?

im just curious how everyone came up with that magic number "the goal weight" that seems so important - we MUST get there! well currently im 138 and some have said i dont need to lose more but my goal is 130 BECAUSE at 138 my BMI is still way too high at 23. (im 5'5") not only that but its summer now and dont we all tend to gain 5 or so pounds in the winter? at 130 pounds my BMI drops to 21.8 and that sure sounds a lot better to me :) so thats how i chose my goal.
 
My goal is kinda touch and go...I definatly want to loose 50 pds all together. Even at that I know I'd be a little on the heavy side (according to charts anyhow) and thats fine with me. I just didn't want to be real big anymore. When I loose the 50 pds I will then decide if I want to loose more or not
 
My goal isn't a weight, it's a size. I'm thinking I want to be a size 5 because that's enough to have some shape, but not enough for anyone to ever call me fat!!! If each size is 10 pounds then I guess that means I'm aiming for about 125lbs. How bizarre to think that soon I will weigh 125. :D To me, not having much to lose, it makes more sense for my goal to be a size rather than a weight because people see your size, but don't know your weight until you tell them. And you can always lie about that, lol.
 
well my first goal was 150 ive had that in my head for yrs,,woohoo i made it but now i have a new goal and thats to get to 135...so i can finally build me some decent muscle lol my ultimate goal 140 with a low bf%might take me a yr or more(def. more :rolleyes: ) but i want it so bad i can taste it! ;)
 
Well, my first goal is 160, because 5 pounds at a time just makes more sense than 30 all at once... (But I've lost 30, so I think I can do it again!! :) ) Anyway, I'm all about 136 because it adds up to ten and... uh... I didn't think this out very well. :p I want to weigh around 135 because I have a friend who's built very similarly to me, nicely muscled, the exact same height, and weighs 135, so I can tell that that weight would look good on my frame. Speaking of which, how tall are you Smiley???
 
For me, I had gained so much weight over the years, I just picked the weight/size I was the most comfortable with before gaining weight. Once I reach that goal, I'll decide from there if I'm happy with it or not. :)
 
yes thats considered "average" height nowadays. (used to be 5'4")
 
My first goal was simply to get back down to the weight my drivers license said I was (from five years back)... That goal was 150... and once I passed it, and knew that I could keep going, my next goal was to weigh less than my boyfriend. =) I figured 135 is a healthy weight for me. It is right in the middle of the height/weight chart estimates, and I have never wanted to be really skinny... being a size 8 right now is SO exciting for me, and if that dropped a size or so, it would be great, but I'm kind of happy where I am. I do need to tone up right now - get rid of the extra pudge and firm up the abs and legs - once I can get that accomplished, whatever weight I end up being, I'll be happy
