What is the best scale?

Okay, so before I start my diary on here I want to know what some of you feel is the best type of scale to measure your weight, that can be bought in a store?:auto:

the best type of scale you will use is a tape measure and keep track of your measurements..

The scale itself really doesnt matter - if you insist on weighing... weigh at regular intervals at the same time wearing the same thing... on the same scale... (most every scale will give you a slightly different result)

DO NOT weigh 10 times a day.. it will drive you insane...

Measurements don't lie however... inches are inches..

hey i agree with the other lady, but i do weight my self and the scale that i got is the Weight Watchers one its from wal-mart and is $24.00 its a good one. but i still think that the best ones are at the doc. office.

The balance beam type scales are by far the best...but it's really not sensible to have for a home scale. (unless you have way too much money and too much floor space in your home)

I think most mid-priced scales are pretty similar. It just depends on how many bells and whistles you want. I don't mind the digital readout...but I don't want to see too many numbers...they just confuse me. lol

Dont waste your money on the body fat scales - they are notoriously inaccurate and really arent worth the extra feature :)

I invested in a digital with body fat and body water % not only were those features bogus since they varied tremendously but the weight digital reading was not good either, within 6 months of us I coudl get on it 5 times in a row and get 5 different numbers ranging 3-4lbs. I am back to cheapie old fashioned scale.

I have an Omron, which I like. The model I have does the body fat percentage; I picked it not because I needed that feature, but because the Amazon reviews for that particular scale all said it weighed precisely - you could come back in 15 minutes and get the same weight, or drink 8 ounces of water and weigh half a pound more. It was also the only one with reviews saying it weighed accurately - someone weighed at the doctor's office, and at home a short time later, and got the same results. The other scales I looked at all had reviews saying they weighed imprecisely.

I will say that the reviewers all gave it horrible scores for the body fat percentage portion, saying it was neither precise nor accurate. But I don't pay attention to that part, so that doesn't bother me.

In my experience, my scale does weigh precisely, which is the primary thing I was looking for.

Where can I find this brand of scale?

I bought a Tanita Innerscan 551 because of the recommendation of our local rehabilitation center for Tanita products. So far it is on the money with my surgeon's office.

I bought mine here.

Whatever you do make sure you go Digital. The old fashioned ones you can mess with the scale to weigh yourself a little lighter but it doesn't help you'll just shock yourself when you go to the doctors and get the truth.
