What is Beautiful

NEW YORK, New York (October 18, 2007) – Donald Trump is many things. But one thing he’s never been mistaken for is someone afraid to speak his mind.

Whether Rosie, Meredith Vieira, Martha Stewart, Mark Cuban or even Merv Griffin, The Donald has never been shy about taking a shot at a fellow celebrity.

And now, it’s apparently Angelina Jolie’s turn to draw The Donald’s fire.
During an interview on CNN’s “Larry King Live” earlier this week, Trump took issue with the public perception of Angelina.

“Angelina Jolie is sort of amazing because everyone thinks she’s like this great beauty. And I’m not saying she’s an unattractive woman, but she’s not beauty, by any stretch of the imagination,” Trump said. “In terms of beauty, she’s not a great beauty. She’s a nice looking woman. She’s OK. But she’s not a great beauty.”

Trump has trashed angelina before, and that was primarily because of her relationship with her father, that he felt she treated him like a dog - so not making excuses for the donald, but his perception of her might be skewing his beauty ideal.

Since beauty, or my lack there of, is my obsession lately, discuss...

What is beautiful...

As far as beauty in human beings, I find these traits beautiful: a "heart of gold", confidence, modesty, knowledge, compassion, selflessness. A free spirit who is either unconscious to the criticism around them or positively draws from it, I find beautiful. I think Ani Difranco is beautiful. My Mom is beautiful. My friends, my girlfriend...they're beautiful. I try to only surround myself with those that do possess beauty.

In question of physical beauty, I go for the eyes and the smile. The rest are just my personal preferences, and what I find beautiful physically on someone in no way means that their soul, who they are, is beautiful. Anyone can be beautiful and it is possible to be thoroughly ugly.

I never found Angelina to look all that great.

I have to agree with Donald that she's just alright.

Scarlett Johanson on the other hand is what I find to be a truly beautiful looking woman.

What is beauty in general?

Aside from outstanding physical appearance I say its also a kind loving heart.

The kind of love that takes care of someone when they are sick or dying, the kind of love that makes a friendship last until life's end.

I think "The Donald" would have been right if he would have said.... " I don't find her to be a great beauty" But saying... "She's not a great beauty and I know beauty" is just stupid. Beauty IS in the eye of the beholder. It's like art, what one person finds beautiful another might not.

I disagree with Jeremy and Chipmonk...AND Donald.. lol..
I find Angelina to be very beautiful. I've only seen Scarlett Johanson in one movie "The black Dahlia" and I thought she had a beautiful figure but I didn't find her face to be as pretty as I find Angelina's.

The most beautiful faces I've seen belonged to.. Natalie Wood, Sir Lawrence( in the movie Wurthering Heights) and Diane Lane.

Beauty is...

Morning,

For pure physical beauty, I'd have to say Pierce Bronson and Richard Dean Anderson are the ultimate. Sorry, I don't know many female stars, so I cannot comment on them.

However, it's peoples' skills and personalities that really turn on the beauty for me. We have guys at our karate dojo who look like bouncers on a bad day...but when they perform katas, they're pure poetry in motion; I could spend hours just staring at them wondering, my gosh, how can the human body move that way?

A beautiful personality is 'way more sexy to me than the body that houses it.

Enjoy,

Barbara
