What if I can't eat 4-6 meals a day?

This summer, I'm working at Hershey Park, (An amusment park in Hershey,PA) and we're not allowed to eat during our work. I want to get my metabolism up, but this is what my summer will look like...

Breakfast
WORK-Lunch
Get home at 4:30
Snack?
Run
Dinner

Even if I eat those 3 meals, will I still be able to lose the weight? I run at my school track, about 2-3 miles a day, and will continue to do that this summer. I am also going to try to get weights this summer for my arms. So I guess my question is.. Do you think i'll be able to lose weight by eating only 3 times a day, healthily, and by running 2-3 miles a day?

Ideally 5-6 small meals a day is the way to go. But if you really can't squeeze in those snacks on your break you need to make sure you are eating enough healthy calories for your three meals. If you are working an 8 hour shift you should be getting 2 15 minute breaks as well as your lunch break. Packing a piece of fruit or some veggies or another small healthfull snack to eat on break would go a long way in keeping your blood sugar stable.

i say tell them you are hypoglycemic or whatev :p

jk...but seriously...are you going to be working outdoors? I couldnt go without food...i dont have any medical condition (that i know of)...but i get irritable/little lightheaded if i dont eat for long periods of time

It may better to eat more smaller meals throughout the day yeah, but I try to stay away from absolutes.

If your eating the right amount of calories and healthy, balanced meals, 3 meals a day versus 4 - 6 isn't going to mean you won't lose weight.

I think that if its really important to you to eat the small meals throughtout the day, you can manage it. As said above, you are entitled to certain breaks depending on how long your working.

I think that weight loss tends to get over analyzed a lot of the time (don't get me wrong, there are many people who deeply analyze it and end up in great health with a great physique).

It's mostly common sense, hard work and dedication. If you need extra help, talking to your doctor and/or a nutrition/trainer might be helpful.

Good Luck!

How about.

Meal 1: Breakfast, before work.
Meal 2: Good protein bar (while using the bathroom?) Only takes 2 mintues to eat it.
Meal 3: Lunch
Meal 4: at 4.30 when you get home
Meal 5: at around 7
Meal 6: at 10 pm

Here you go. When there's a will there's a way.
