hello everyone need a bit of help i need to lose around 60 lbs but i also what to tone up my bum tum and thighs does anybody no what the best exercises are to do this any help would be great thx :)

You don't tone with exercises. No such thing.

Toning is a function of fat loss, which in turn, is a function of energy balance.

You either build, maintain, or lose muscle. If you want to build up muscle in your bum, deep squats and deadlifts are good exercises.

A great exercise I have found for my bum and hips is a floor exercise where I get a step, move to one side of it and step up on to it and lift my outer leg straight out to the side keeping my toes pointed forward. Then I bring it back to starting postition and step down. I repeat 20 times on each side and do three sets. I feel it in my hips/outer thighs and butt which are two of my problem areas. I just love to "feel it" there! Over time, it has also helped my improve my balance, which is a big problem of mine.

Good luck to you!

run. sit ups will help tighten up loose ab muscles, giving a flatter appearance, but wont get rid of the belly fat.

Many people confuse that localized feeling of your muscle burning as toning.

Or fat burning.

It's not.

Steve,

Can you detect an increase in muscle hardness the more you lift weights? Since I am on a calorie deficit I know I'm not gaining any new muscles, but I certainly am getting stronger (I can lift heavier weights). I also noticed that my biceps and leg muscles feel a lot harder.

Fact or illusion?

It's not impossible to gain muscle while dieting. It's just unlikely. The chances of doing so are higher if you've never trained seriously with weights before or if you're coming off a long hiatus from training.

Muscles will get a pump immediately after training as blood fills the muscle. This can make you feel 'harder.'

You say you are dieting. This means fat should be coming off ya. The more subcutaneous fat you lose, the more lean you'll become. The more lean you become, the harder you'll feel.

If you don't think you're gaining any muscle, you're getting stronger due to increased neural drive and efficiency. Your muscles are not the only thing that adapt to training. So does your brain and all the pathways between it and your muscles. This leads to increased strength.
