What do you think bout what I'm doing?

Just started being 100% serious on this! Here is a quick background. Im 25, 6'1 and weight 335.

Cut 90% soda out of my diet about 3 months ago. Have lost 20lbs which I am super proud of. Was drinking around 2 32oz soda's during day, plus medium to large at lunch, and then 1-2 cans at night. Now I drink only a medium if that at lunch.

So here is what I would like advise on.

Me and wife started working out at local gym this past week. We are going to go every other day and doing mostly cardio. I have been doing about 20 minutes on treadmill, 10-15 on eliptical, and 20 on bike. Is that something good to be doing to burn fat and lose weight? Is there any other type of machine workout I should be doing? I know they have the arc and some other machines i haven't used.

Now eating right all day is my hard part. Im not a fan of vegetables at all! I know thats not good, but can't eat them. And I am on the road all day doing service calls so fast food is what my dad (who is training me) gets. I been trying to get the least fat foods at the restaurants.

What are some good snacks to bring with me to eat on the road? Of course not vegetables, and not a fan of nuts. Been bringing 90 cal granola bars lately.

Any tips and suggestions appreciated.

I know portion control is a big thing too, but hard to tell what is too much or too little. Like at taco bell I normally get 2 tacos and a burrito, which I am sure is too much. How can I know what is the right amount.

I try to keep tabs on what I eat as close as possible by counting calories. This week I installed this app on my android phone "myfitnesspal" or something and it's free and seems to have just about every possible food in it that you can search for and add to your daily calorie intake. This is much easier than writing stuff down, looking up foods on the computer and keeping a spreadsheet like I've done before. BUT, if you eat nearly the same foods every day, you can go online and look up combinations of fast foods that you might eat and plan your meals out before hand. It's tough to eat healthy at fast food joints but not absolutely impossible either. You'll end up eating a lot of grilled chicken sandwiches.

Some snacks I like are apples, raisins, almonds, kashi granola bars, "pure protein" protein bars (about 180 cal each), a can of tuna, and peanut butter crackers (not as good). Apples and bananas are both easy to carry fruits that have relatively low calories and give you some healthy carbs.

That sounds great. Anything that gets your heart rate up is good cardio exercise that will help you burn fat. I prefer using an elliptical machine because it's easier on my knees and doesn't give me shin splints.

Normally if the gym is halfway decent the people who work their can help you out a bit and give you advise on what to do.
