Fascinating how soda/pop is a part of most every culture

Wow, what a visual. they always say that a veggie/grain diet is way less than a processed food one. This is a very good breakdown of it. Thanks for posting. Where did you get this from? I'd like to share it.

Sort of a New Age site, I think. Ton's of fascinating stuff there.

What I find fascinating too is how happy the people in Ecuador, Bhutan, and Chad seem, even though they are at the bottom of the food chain, so to speak.

Did some research and found this is from a book entitled Hungry Planet

I hear the book is more fascinating then even this.

I saw this a couple a months ago on Time's website. My friend and I spent hours analyzing what people ate. We were pretty appalled with the American family. I don't know many that eat that much fast food and I'm a college student. There's also a part II floating around if you search What the World Eats Part II.

I saw that article before and thought it was fascinating. I feel very humbled by the tiny amount of food eaten by the family in the Breidjing Camp in Chad. Breidjing is a refugee camp for displaced Sudanese people, mostly from the war-torn Darfur region. Those people's lives are already extremely difficult and they are surviving on rations.

Here am I complaining about not being able to control the excessive amount of food I eat. I (and so many others in the West/global North) are victims of our own prosperity.

Wow! I can hardly believe that last family survives off of so little!

It kind of makes me feel bad for eating so much...

Dang.

Is that ONE bottle of water for the whole family for one week?!? Thats so sad..
Makes me appreciate my water from the sink a lot more.

My familys food would be a mix between the german and italian family. What about yours?
