What are your motivation tools?

Don't know if this has been posted elsewhere. Just trying to keep things lively.

I use men's health magazine and sometimes M&F.
Chicks rubbing my stomach at the club I bounce at is great.
I like looking better than all my guy friends and watching their g/f's squirm. (that one's low I know, but it's hilarious to see the look on their face)
Before and After pictures are always fun to look at.

Many things work for me. Mostly, I try to self-motivate. I'm a mechanical engineer and going to school for my MBA so it can be easy to fall into traps of working long hours, eating fast food, and going home to do nothing but sitting on my @ss.

I know I'm a T-Nation pimp but I enjoy reading about and work from guys like Chris Shugart, Lonnie Lowery, CT, John Berardi, Chad Waterbury, TC....educated, successful, ripped and rugged sum-b!tches. These guys - and more - are busy like you and I, but still find time to get their workouts in and maintain proper nutrition. If they can do it then, damn-it, so can I!

I like reading books about guys like Lance Armstrong, if that doesn't motivate you NOTHING will. I am simple too, I have a Rocky poster that I see everyday.

This message board is a motivational tool as well. Personalities like Omited One, JP, jasondragon, Coach Dan, Mog, Adler, and of course you too Panman...many more I'm sure help to keep me in check.

In the gym is a different story, I don't know what it'd be like to train without music in my ear. I haven't tried to train for years without something playing.

This post isn't going to get anyone fired up, but I guess my point is every person needs to find what's best for them and these things work for me.

Last thought before DLs: "Grip it and RIP it! 1-2-PULLLLL!!!!"

I knew I'd forget someone important on my list of people from this community. abear is one of the best. Sorry bro didnt' mean to forget ya.

It's kinda early and my workout this morning was really rough(in a good way). So sorry for forgetting anyone else.

Yeah agreed Detroit. You guys on hereare like brothers to me. I know a lot of yall are over achievers like me. There just aren't enough hours in a day.

Yeah music is definetly a need for me. I didn't have any music 2 weeks ago when I was getting back into it. I just couldn't push myself on squats. Did legs today while jamming on Machine Head, I damn near broke the squat rack, lol.
:D

hey DM, its all good! hadnt been posting for awhile.

personally, i just love to lift. its fun, i enjoy it. so its not really like i have to find a reason to get me going. but setting goals and working to achieve them is what i look forward to. :)

i agree with dm...im an engineering student, and when youve been sitting around all day, lost in your own world of nonlinear differential equations, high impedence outputs, and class sturctures, nothing feels better than pure physical activity.

plus, like abear, i just like it a lot. id go to the gym 3 times a day if my body would let me.

Freddy, bro, I come here to get away from phrases like "nonlinear differential equations". I'd appreciate it if you'd refrain from such activity and stick to discussion of macro nutrients and picking up big rusty plates hangin on a bending olympic bar.

Just playin with ya. :D

motivation?

My motivation? cocky guys on this forum JUST KIDDING. It's good to have a healthy image of yourself - better than being all down in the dumps.

what motivates me a lot is lookin the mirror and wanting more, magazines, my friends, women, WOLVERINE, and trying new workout routines.

This is gonna sound stupid. One time my friend (who is into pumping iron as well) and I were flippin through channels, and we saw this WWF wrestler named Batista. The guy is a monster. we kept jokin about how could any guy like that lose in wrestling. We would always pump like crazy, but we started pumpin even more after that. hahahahaaahha
