Hello, all! This is my first post on Weight-Loss Forum. First off, my name is Amber. I am 24 years old. I am 5'4" and weighed in this morning at 191 lbs. My goal is to weigh 170 by my birthday, which is October 12.
My weight has been keeping pretty steadily in the mid-180s since high school. Shortly after I turned 21, I got pregnant. I gained only 16 lbs. during the course of my pregnancy, and amazingly dropped 30 lbs. within a short time of delivering. Unfortunately, however, the baby was born still, so we decided to try again a little less than a year later. Of couse, this time I put on 40+ lbs like it was nobody's business. I topped out at just under 210 lbs when I went in to deliver the second time around. Thankfully, we now have a beautiful, happy and healthy 16 month old daughter, however, the magical post-pregnancy weight loss was not so good to me. I was down to 184 up until a few months ago when I started a new, SEDENTARY job, and bounced back up to 191, where I've been keeping steady since. I enjoy walking and would try to get out and exercise, but I am admittedly a very 'instant results'-oriented person, and would get frustrated very quickly and stop. Now, however, I am on a mission...
Starting this week, I've been walking at a good pace for 30 minutes every day and I'm trying to be careful about what I eat. I have also started taking a Green Tea supplement in hopes that it will boost my metabolism. Has anyone else ever heard much about Green Tea? I would appreciate all of the support and advice I can get. I'm going to try and stick to it this time!
