Hi All,
OK, a quick background. I had been bulking for about 8 weeks, and wasn't doing any cardio at all, no running or HIIT. So I switched over to a cutting cycle, which means I was starting to do HIIT and runs again. On my cut earlier this year, I was running for 20 minutes after lifting, doing HIIT on 2 days, and then running 6-8 miles on one of the weekend days, never any problems at all.
This time around though, I ran once after lifting, no problems. Then ran 5 miles on Sunday, and my calves were messed up, right ankle felt weird, like I could feel the tendon stretching or some kinda creepy feeling. It got better over the week, and I was still able to lift on it, and even do some HIIT on the steps. So yesterday, it had been about a week, and things felt great, so I ran 15-20 mins after lifting. Right after finishing, my calves were real sore, and I could already tell my ankle was quirky again. I thought it would get worse overnight. Luckily, it's not nearly as bad as the first time after the 5 mile run. It's still weird though, calves are more sore than they should be, and the right ankle is not quite right. Is this just my body having trouble adjusting since I haven't been running for a couple months, or should I be worried?
Damn, it's always something with my body. It's like I'm not meant to be into fitness!
