weights for women

i'm interested in lifting some weights to tighten my arms and gain a little upper body strength. however, i haven't the first clue where to start. i've never really lifted weights (correctly) so i was wondering if anyone had a weekly weight lifting plan that could help me out.
i have access to dumbbells (5-50 lbs.)

any help would be greatly appreciated! good luck in 2008!!
