Weightloss without exervise

I've been looking around for help with my problem and I wondered if now is my time to finally change my life around.

I'm 18 years old and in 4 days will be moving out to an apartment. I always felt like living at home with people who eat everything and there being fatty food everywhere stopped my ability to lose weight. I'll be on my own and be buying all my own food. I feel I can overcome my problem with eating improperly but I have a bigger problem in a quest for weight loss.

I have a leg injury that has plagued me for 2 years. I didn't weight that much and was in track and then I had an injury that has stopped all exercise from me for 2 years. I'm almost 330 pounds and can't exercise because I'm waiting on a possible second surgery for my syndrome. I know everyone says you can't lose weight without exercise but I don't know what I'm gonna do anymore weighing this much and living.

Of course I know nothing of nutrition and before when I've tried to lose weight I always eat minimal all day till about 3 and then feel like death from the hunger and go insane.

I may join the online weightwatchers or just use fitday. I used fitday before and always felt it was just a little off but maybe its better now. Since I'm injured I can't work so buying food to be healthy is hard.

Here is some advice I can give for what is working for me. I don't know if it will work the same for you, but it can't hurt to get opinions from other people, right?

Go to this website:

calculate your BMR & your daily calorie needs to maintain your current weight. Then subtract from that at least 500 calories, you can definitely subtract more, but since you're not really able to exercise, I wouldn't go too crazy initially (by the way- I'm betting all the extra weight is making the leg injury worse- I myself have bad knees and they are soooo much better now just after only 25 pounds down). If you subtract 500-1000 calories a day from how much you eat now, that's anywhere from 1-2 pounds per week alone (and the more you weigh, the more you'll lose initially, at least the first few weeks- that seems to be the case for most people). Also drink at least 64 ounces of water a day- I completely replaced my old soda habits with water and when I really need a soda, I go with diet only, and holy cow did I lose a lot of weight those first two weeks just from dropping water weight. Keeping a food diary of what I eat is how I keep everything in track- there are tons of websites that give calorie values for common foods as well as most restaurant foods, so it's a lot easier than you'd think. Start with all of that, and hopefully it will work for you and you'll lose a noticeable amount in just the first week.... remember, a real diet shouldn't mean living off of lettuce and fish- it's a balance of healthy food and occasional junk food and mostly about portion control. multiple small meals to keep the metabolism going do wonders for me compared to one or two big meals and no snacks in between, but we all process food differently, so it's what works best for you..... take it day by day..... I hope my advice has been helpful and I wish you the best of luck!
