Weight Vest Training

I workout doing Pullups, Dips, Pushups and Situps, of all variations ofcourse, but only those. I decided to step it up and started working out with a filled backpack, weighs about 14lbs about 10% my body weight.

I finally bought a proper weight vest though, much more comfortable and the weight is disributed better. I got a 10 Kg one, about 23 Lbs, so 17% added weight, about 1.2 G.

Does anyone train with a weight vest here?

If so, do you recommend like, doing the hard sets first with the vest and then once tired out, take it off and do a few more without it? Or should I just do the weighted sets and the stop?

Thankyou.

A typical weight vest includes adjustable shoulder and lateral straps that allow it to be customized to fit any torso. That way, the weight is properly positioned in the optimal center of gravity for each body type.

Back when I was a pushup fanatic I would throw 20kg of free weights into a backpack and train. I used programs such as hundredpushups.com and grease the groove, plus many variations on the standard pushup.

Needless to say, my pushup PB soared. I went from having my form compromised at 80-90 to doing 100-120. I even managed to hit 100 diamond pushups.

Now I don't do them anymore, and I can hit about 60 before my form drops.

Yeah, that's the best thing about it, with the backpack it was all on my back, and a mess especially with pushups, now I can keep it tight on me and distributed.

Some scary moments when that chain starts to swing.
Sadly I still use the belt option.

LOL :)

Yeah as I said I never used one yet, I watch these videos on youtube and I just don't get how the **** it stays on you. I mean people doing it with over 100 pounds on it. Does it sit on your Butt cheeks or what?

Anyhow, on topic, I'm like, Exstatic about the weight vest training, and as I thought, when I bought it I chose a weight, and now 2 weeks later, I already wish I had a heavier one xD Man I'm getting addicted and loving this :D

I use a belt that fastens at the front as well so no danger of it falling off, possibly changing gender though.
I have used 60kg max with one and to be fair that is why never went for vest, don't think they go that high.
System now is OK though as have dipping belt and use that attached to the low row section attached to my rack. This means nothing dangerous swinging between my legs.

Cool Mate.

Yeah, I think the heaviest I found was 30 Kg. I will progress to that later, or just add a belt.

One of the few advantages to being naturally skinny. I got used to working with my bodyweight very easily.
I remember some time ago having someone comment on how much I was adding to do wide grip chins. When we worked it out I was only working with slightly more than he was when bodyweight was factored in.
Maximum full drop to chin at bar was 30kg, think I may have managed 3.
On dips straight to shoulder parrellel with wrist was 60kg but bars were just over my shoulder width apart.
Intrigued to see how I get on using the current system. So far I have only tested that I can do it, not really used it.

I Workout at +15 Kg Now. It's about 25% of my bodyweight Added. Max Out I can do 8 Pullups with this weight, and 14 normally.

Dips I donow, never tried max out.
