Weight Training Vs. Basketball

Is it much burning calories or buring fat? I heard that if you weight train your body burns sugar and you lose fat in the process while if you play basketball you burn fat directly. So I'm wondering which can you lose fat/calories from the most?
 
If you are trying to lose weight than the best way is to cut the calories. Weight training and bball both cut calories. Prob. bball more since it is aerobic. Does the sugar burning fat mumbo jumbo make any kind of difference that you would be able to see in the mirror? No. Just cut the cals and do what is fun.
 
Strength training adds muscle. Each pound of lean muscle mass you have burns 35-50 calories per day.

Basketball is cardio.

A proper fitness routine includes both strength training and cardio. Looks like you are on the right track.

Forget about burning certain 'types' of calories. Just keep your cardio up, strength train 2-3 times per week and eat well. You'll achieve your goals :)
