Hello!!!

Im Adrienne. Those of you joining this thread knows who I am but just in case some new ones come in I'll go ahead and introduce myself. I am married and am pregnant with twin girls. They are due at the end of April!! I have gained 40lbs from this pregnancy and its not even over yet! 15 more weeks to go. Im sure I'll pack on some more in between now and then. On top of the 40lbs I have another 40lbs that I need to lose that I had gained before I got pregnant. I struggle with weight gain for many years and Im ready to get on top of it all and enjoy doing things. Its especially important for me that I am energetic enough to keep up with my girls.

I'd like to start this forum (thread) for those of you who would like to keep progress of your weight loss and what your tips are. Your goals for losing weight. Vacations you have planned to reward yourself. I'd like it to be a place where we can discuss anything at all w/o the worry of others that know you, reading about it. :)

Even though I am not able to do any sort of exercise or dieting til April , some of you are wanting to get started now so I dont see why we cant all just be here for one another from day 1 eh? ;)

Anyways I hope you find this as fun as I hope it will be!!!!

Hi Adrienne :) I decided to join because maybe, just maybe this will help me stick to my guns! As you know, the South Beach Diet didn't last long. And it wasn't even because I couldn't do it... I just got lazy about keeping what I needed on hand at all times. It's hard to grocery shop with a two year old! So my goal is to go shopping at a set time each week with a list and meals already planned out. I don't plan on excluding everything I like from my diet because I just don't have the will-power to stick to it. If I can eat healthy about 90% of the time and exercise 3 or 4 times a week I think I can slowly but surely lose weight. Oh... and I need to have Preston take some pictures of me! I can't forget about that! I think that will definitely help my outlook.

HEY!! "jackmama" that is great!! Im so happy to see you here. ;) Even if its just us two on here I think it would be great to have it as our motivation to lose more weight. Feel free to talk about anything on here ...feel free to vent lol. :)

I think its a great idea to just do what you are planning to do and take it 1 week at a time. It can get very overwhelming if you start to look at the long goal and then you can get discouraged b/c you feel you arent doing as good as you should.

I need to get another memory card for my camera so I can have it ready when the girls are born.

I find that doing a diet based on what others want you to do can be stressful too. Remember you arent like anyone else. You are you and your body will do what it wants. So feel free to say and do what you feel YOU can do. Im here to cheer you on and join you once the girls are born. I am DYING to get started now! lol. But I was told that I cant do anything outside of walking a little , very slowly, around the house.

Im so happy you are going to do this with me!!!

OOOh and i totally feel you on the grocery thing. Its very aggrivating AND discouraging when you live with other people and you have to buy food for them and then food for you. Especially when they eat your food lol.

I think, so I dont go into a huge shock, I will start off with drinking nothing but water and not eating after 6pm. Then I can jump into the other stuff in May.

When I lost 40lbs a few years ago the one thing I did was just drink only water and I walked 30 minutes a day. That was it! In a year I lost 40lbs. It was slow but it was easy to keep off. And the one thing that helped me keep walking was to start off with 5 min walk and then 10 min walk the next week and slowly increased so I wouldnt tire myself out. I also, mentally, just kept saying "walk just to get thin legs---worry about the rest later". Before I knew it I had lost weight everywhere all at the same time but b/c my focus was on just my legs then it seemed to go by faster.

wuvs u mama ;) xxx

:iagree: Hey Im so glad we will have more support stinking to our diets and routines, I read somewhere most people dont stick to a diet because of lack of support! Thanks girl!

Hey this is Roxie :) something that worked for me is that I cut out all soda's, sugars, carbs, junk food, So basically I went on a meat/fish/berry/veggies/nuts/some dairy type of diet. It's really hard at first and because you don't eat carbs you will get hungary faster and more often and at first you might feel weak. I just made sure I ate a little threw out the day and I ate as much as I wanted of meat/fish/berry/veggies/nuts/some dairy. I would make a little extra for dinners during the week so I could have left overs for lunch. I try and eat as much organic food as possible, I eat things that are gluten free, the only type of sugar I cook with or use is Xylitol sugar. It's an organic, non processes, non chemical sugar. Very good to use for not packing on the pounds. I get meats that have to nitrates, hydrogenated fats/oils. Hydrogenated fats are mostly man-made fats used in bakery items and stick margarine. Studies have shown that it isn’t so much how much fat there is in your diet that causes problems, as to what kind of fat, and hydrogenated fats are the worst. Avoid buying cookies, crackers, baked goods or anything else that has hydrogenated oil on the ingredient list. So far, hydrogenated fats don’t have to be listed on the nutrition panel as saturated fats do, but the Center for Science in the Public Interest is campaigning hard for the FDA to require it. So basically organic meat, I eat caged free eggs. You want to make sure your animals are veggie fed and not shot up with hormones and fed corn to get fatter faster. See doctors won't tell you this but all that junk they put in the food now days to preserve it and the chemicals to give things a shelf life are horrible for your body and some peoples bodies don't process that stuff well and there metabolism does not work well to burn it off and these chemicals/preservatives make it hard to lose weight and they make you crave certain foods. I have struggled with weight loss to, all my life and I have tried all types of diets and exercise to no avail but when my nutritionist put me on this diet I lost 40lb but you have to stick to it for that to happen and it takes a lot of work and changing the way you eat and think about food and I lost that weight w/o exercise, but that's not to say exercise does not help, even if you just do a little walking. I try to do at least that. I only eat organic cheese, I drink vanilla Rice Milk, Paul Newmens dressings are good but if I can't get that then I don't eat salads because other salad dressing have to much other crap in them I can't have. I also cook with Gluten free and wheat free flower. I only eat 12 or 15 grams of carbs a day, cause you do need some carbs, which is not much but just fill the rest of your diet up with the above metioned foods.

HEY GIRLS!!! im so thrilled you are all on here.
