Greetings all!
I am new to this forum, so I am not certain how it works or what some of the personalities are like here as of yet.
Gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time is really hard. It requires diet discipline, tracking, and good training.
That being said, I suck at it for several reasons, but I will skip some of those reasons for now. The reason I am posting is because I want to know what to do when one feels they plateau.
I want to lose fat, but I do not want to lose a lot of muscle with it. I cannot seem to drop much more weight on the scale. No, I have not taken measurements, but I think the way I feel fluctuates so I do not think I have altered enough to go by how my clothes fit. I really should take measurements.
Anyway, if one is not losing weight, then the challenge would be to probably drop some of my daily caloric intake. I assume it must be too high if I am not losing. For the past couple of months I have been hitting the gym regularly doing cardio and weight training. I vary the kinds of cardio I do so that I am not doing the same kind every time. I haven't been lifting long enough to worry about that variation yet. Only a few months. Now, I do not expect miracles, but I should have lost more than a couple pounds in a month. I seriously doubt I put on that much muscle as I am not sure what the average muscle gain is per month for the average person.
Should I alter everything? Diet and training? I am not one who has done a lot of crossfit or kettlebell style training. You know, the kind of exercises that trainers make you do - burpees, lunges etc. The kinds of movements that most people are not used to and they can be a bit awkward. Is it really necessary to do cardio that way?
I guess that was supposed to be a question in here, but it seems off to me. Please excuse me it is 5 am and I had a long day. I need more sleep.
If you can make sense of this post and can offer advice with your expertise, then I would appreciate it!
