hi, i was wondering if winter has any effect on weight loss? today i walked on the treadmill for 1hour and i didnt even sweat, where as if it was summer, my shirt wouldve been saturated.
i feel as though im walking for nothing. is it true that u burn more fat in summer/hotter weather?
Sweat has nothing to do with how many calories or fat you are burning. I mean, ive never really sweated much in my life, even in the hot summer.
It is true, (IMO) that it is alot harder to lose weight in the winter. Thats y alot of ppl just bulk. Believe it or not, people's bodys work a little like animals in the way that in the winter, its obviously very cold, so it tries to hold onto fat to keep you warm!
I have found this very true this winter
But, that doesn't mean you cant lose weight in winter, just mean uve gotta try that little bit harder!
Nice post Tim14. I agree. People are mammals and they tend to store more fat in winter time. Now... if you're 50 pounds overweight you can afford to lose the fat in winter. If you're 5 pounds overweight... it'll be harder.
Spring and summer tends to motivate people more and it tends to lead to more physical activities. It's the cycle of nature really. Very holistic.
Anyway, how much you sweat is no indication of how hard you are working or a factor to judge your outcome. Some people constantly sweat, others never do and most of us sweat at certain time.
