weight loss help

I'm 15, around 156 lbs, and 5'4" tall. I want to get down to about 130 lbs maybe by summer. Right now my diet goes kinda like this...

Breakfast- 1 cup Honey Nut Cheerios with1 cup of fat free milk (6:30)

Lunch- what ever lunch it as school or sometimes nothing (12:00)

Between lunch and dinner- 6 cups of water, 2 carrots, an orange, an apple

Dinner- Chicken, brown rice, and some different vegetables

Should I be eating more or less than this? More protien, fiber, etc? Give me an axample of what a good diet to follow would be.

And for exercise, what should I do to burn fat? I have a basketball hoop, bike, and jump rope, but how much and how often should I be doing this stuff to get results thanks. :)

read the stickied threads around the forum - after you've read those threads (start in nutrition, move on to ON Topic) then ask your question In those threads about what you do not understand.

And have a talk with your parents or whomever feeds you about your goals

The first thing you should do is begin by writing down everything you eat for at least 5 days in a row. This will give you a pretty good idea of what you are actually eating. Be sure to note everything that you put in your mouth.

As far as activity goes. Jumping rope is an extremely good workout but stick with whatever you enjoy.

Losing weight is 90% what you put in your body and only 10% exercise.

No matter what dont skip lunch. Even if you have to bring a protein bar your going to need something to eat during the day. I know its hard to find healthy options at school, but it can be done. Salads. Add alot of veggies and don't drown it in ranch. Thats what I used to do. I'd get a salad and cover it in ranch...yeah not so healthy...
