Weight Loss Diary: Fighting Heart Disease and Diabetes

Hello

I am 21 years old, female, 5'6.5", and 230 pounds.

There is a history of heart problems in both my mother and father's line, and diabetes on my father's side.
I want to lose weight to be healthier and feel better, and to not die before I turn 50.

I have struggled with my weight since I was a child. After high school and getting a job that requires mostly sitting, as well as entering college, my weight climbed from 180 to 230 pounds over several years. I am terrified of it rising any further. I hope that by keeping this diary, I will be more successful in my weight loss goals.

My long term goal is 150 pounds.
My short term goal is 200 pounds.

You should outline your plan or ask for advice if you are uncertain. There are positive supportive people here that have had great success with losing weight. Stick around and log what you do whether it's good or bad and focus on slowly improving diet and exercise and you'll get there. It's great to see someone so young concerned about there health. This is a great time for you to make changes in your life that will be permanent and healthy.
