Weight Lifting Benefits

After weighting lifting for about a hour, getting those sores does it continually make you burn calories to repair the muscle? Also, I don't get those sore feelings much no anymore and I'm wondering if I'm not actually doing anything to myself.

I'm not sure if it is repairing the muscle that is burning the calories or not, but you will still be burning an increased amount of calories for a couple hours after weightlifting(versus what your body burns normally at a resting state).

Soreness is not an indicator of hypertrophy IE muscle growth. The only time i get sore is from an excercise i haven't done before or i haven't done in a while.

newbies get sore easily. when you train for many months, eventually you just get a little ache...some stiffness in the muscles...not jabbing pain. stretching will help alleviate soreness in beginners too.

Yea, muscle repair burns calories. You can't build muscle out of air... you need something to fuel it. ;p
