Do you think weight lifting can stop you from growing if you start at an early age lets say like 16ish... i know ive heard all sorts of stuff so id just like to see whats out there
Yes there is some truth to this. I took a course for continuing education that said heavy training at a young age can damage the growth palates and slow a childs growth down.
If you stick with weights you can do for 12 reps and use proper form there is NO chance of affecting your growth. The only way to damage growth plates (as well as connective tissue) is to try to do 1RM (one Repetition Maximum) lifts.
