weight gainer?

Hello, I recently purchased The GNC Weight Gainer 2200 Gold () for like $17 at GNC.

After I review the back of the container, I must take three whole scoops with 3 cups of liquid (water or milk). You should see the size of this scoop...it's like like a whole cup almost. And also, if you do take three scoops, this thing will only last you 5 servings. I'd hate to go out and purchase a new container every 5 days.

Anyways, I was wondering if you guys knew of any good weight gainers that didn't require such a large amount serving and something that would last me more than 5 days?

Thanks for the help!!

yes, homemade liquid concoctions

weight gainers such as that one are nothing more than whey protein and sugar. there are better ways to get your calories than that. but if you use it, how much you use depends on what you need. just taking a weight gainer in and of itself will not cause a gain in bodyweight. you have to take in more calories than you burn off.

if you know how many calories you are eating and you are not gaining weight, just do like a half serving of the gainer. thats all you need for now. theres no need to take it like they say. do that and you'll more than likely gain fat because of increasing calories too much too soon

:)

a lot of times people on here will try to shun you away from purchasing weight gainer. The truth of the matter is you have to make your own choices there is no one answer when it comes to making gains. About consumption what you can do if you do decide to use the weight gainer is do one scoop after a work out that's what I did once I saw the scoop size then mix that with bananas and strawberries to up the calories that much more. The instructions on the back of the container (nutrition facts) are a little miss-leading. you see and think that it is necessary to consume three scoops. no way- if you need to consume 2200 calories in one setting your either- annorexic or really huge. the way I make weight gainer is to use whey protein and mix it with fruits that are high in calories. that is a much healthier choice then 700 grams of sugar (estimate) that would be in your weight gainer. just eat well and ask questions and you should be fine.

I use a weight gainer to get the me "over the top" to get more food during a bulking phase. Could you explain further why you think it's a bad idea toby?
thanks in advance :)

it's got the calories because it is packed with sugar - it's like taking 2 scoops of whey, and then pouring in a whole load of table sugar

if you want more calories, simply eat more good food!
