Weight GAIN Supplements?

Hey,

I'm 18 years old and am extremly thin for my age. I am interested in bulking up and beginning some weight training, but before I begin that would like to GAIN a few more kilos as I am extremly thin. Now I have advised to take some WEIGHT SUPLLEMENTS in order to help me gain some weight.

I have been recommended two different supplements to help me gain this weight more quickly and effectively. They are shakes called "Mass Xplosion" and "N-Large 2". The way they are supposed to work in helping me gain some wait are to provide me with 600+ calories per serving. The other I have been recommended is "IST Pure Creatine". Not sure much about this one.

My Question is have anyone here tried these before, and do you recommend these supplements for me or different ones. Also where would I go about buying these weight supplements? Do they usually just sell them in the normal food supermarket or would I have to go to a special store to purchase them? Thanks for your help.

i have tried creatine...didnt do much for me, but ive seen it work wonders for people. you can just get it at a fitness store, like GNC.

weight gain supplements are no more than calories in a container. they assist you in adding calories to the diet.

to start gaining weight, you first have to determine how many calories you are currently eating and if you're not gaining weight, you simply have to take in more calories.

so if you're eating say 2800 calories, you would then add roughly 300 more and eat 3100 for the next 7 days. if after those 7 days you dont gain weight, you would then add 300 more calories and eat 3400 for the next 7 days. you keep stepping it up until you begin to gain weight.

whats the point to all this????

this long drawn out explanation is meant to mean that you simply dont begin taking a supplement like nlarge to begin gaining weight. theres more to it than that.

now sure you can use the nlarge for upping those 300 calories each week, but what would be even better is to concentrate on real food and save it for when you really and truely need it. like when you cant possibly EAT anymore than you already are.

so just to show you, 1 serving of natural peanut butter contains 210 calories and 1 cup of milk 90. BOOM: there's your 300 calories and you didnt have to go spend 30 dollars at the nutrition store. :)

as for creatine, here's a post i cut and pasted here:

i would highly recommend you save creatine until you have some experience and some results under your belt.

Nah I will just go to the shops and get them.
