Hello, I am new to the forums, I may post an intro later on in the correct area. Although, I am not sure if this is the correct spot to post this question
If not, I apologize for my newbness.
I have a question of inch loss. I know that every person is different, but I am just looking for a best guess. I will provide as much information as I can think of feel free to ask anything you can think of that will help.
Teenage years I could eat 3000 to 5000 calories a day and not gain a pound. In high school, I wanted to join the airforce and fly. According to them, I needed to gain 15 pounds to fly for my height (ironically I am now at that weight). I won't bore you with all that I ate, I will just tell you that I would eat half a pizza for a late night snack and the other half for a pre breakfast snack. Seriously, it was a lot of food. I lost 5 pounds after 6 weeks of that.
Early 20's I still ate crap and never worked out, but I did have jobs where I was walking all day. i maintained the size and weight I was at 14 until I was 26. Even through an 8 month period where I ate potato chips, salsa and icecream all day and watched 16 hours of tv a day. My only exercise was laundry.
Then the late 20's hit. I still have the high metabolism that I had before. However, I started adding beer and white bread to my daily diet. I went from a job where I was on my feet walking all day (serving) to a job where I sit in a nice desk all day. I make more money and that means I can afford those nice sauces on my shrimp and more expensive (heavier) beer. I have gained about 10-15 pounds in the last year.
If you ask anyone other than my immediate family, they will tell you I am underweight. This is due to the fact that I have skinny arms, calfs and my face doesn't show the weight gain. Even with this weight gain, I have only gained an inch on my chest. However, I can not get my pants that I wore 13 months ago over the mid point in my thighs. It seems that I have gained all of my weight in my lower body. My family of course has seen me in a bathing suit and can tell the weight gain.
I would like to lose that 10-15 pounds I have gained. I believe I am on the right path with making healthy food choices and working out. I lost 4 pounds in the last three weeks and I have kept it off. I can already tell a difference in my waist.
My dilemma: I am getting married in 6 months. I would like to be 12 pounds lighter or at least be in shape and firmed up by June for my final fitting of my dress. If I continue to lose 1-2 pounds a week I will be at my goal, no problem. But am I going to lose the weight all over, or will it usually fall off the place that it went to first? I've never tried to lose weight before, so I am not sure how that works. I can't lose more than an inch in my chest area. My dress will be too big. I can however lose as much as I want in my hips, thighs, and waist and no one will be able to tell. I know some women complain that they always lose the weight up top first. Is this always the case? I only gained an inch up there.
Next question is, what's the best thigh and butt exercise I can do to firm up and lose fat? Is walking and the steps the best way still?
Thanks in advance for the help. Sorry, it was a long post. I thought if I supplied my history that it would help you guys make good guesses.
