Weak back

Hello,

So about 1.5 years ago, I started working out very regularly. My upper body and legs have imrpved dramatically, but my back has not kept up. I still struggle to do 5 pull-ups from dead hand. I am not oheavy 6.1, 183lbs, so I just don't understand why my back is still so weak. I do pull-ups with some supporting weight, I do the lat pull-down, the machine that simulates rowing, but with weights, and some other back exercises. What else can I do? I desperately want to improve my back, but it is getting so frustrating to see the lack of significant imrovement day in and day out.

Deadlifts! Thats probably what you are missing. Deadlifts are the best exercise you can do; especially for your back.

Deadlifts
Bent-over Rows (inverted rows, upright rows)
Chinups
Pullups
Lat pulldowns (wide grip, close grip)
Seated Cable Pulls
Dumbbell Rows
Scap Pushups
Traps (upperback) Shrugs, Dumbbell Shrugs, PowerCleans

Tons of stuff you could do for the back.

maybe not be so hard on yourself? pullups are very hard and if you can do 10 youre considered very fit and strong, so 5 isnt bad...just keep at it.

if you want to focus on back, then simply do more back exercises! As jman suggests, deadlifts are great, but you MUST use perfect form to avoid injuring yourself and making things worse.
