I joined a little while back but never really posted anything. I saw everyone's weight loss stories, pictures, etc. I'm so proud of all of you.

I'm nineteen years old, five foot seven, and weigh 142.5 pounds.

I would like to lose about 15 more pounds to feel good about myself.

I'm kind of stuck, though. I've been losing weight here and there, basically changing my eating habits, etc. I stay away from the fried foods, as well as fast foods. I only drink water[sometimes with the propel grape flavoring in it]. I've recently joined the YMCA because they have both the pool and a gym. When I go I walk really fast on the treadmill for about 15-20 mins before I go lift weights at all the stations.

I've weighed 142.5 for about a month now, with no change at all.

It's a real bummer because I thought joining the Y and actually working out rather than just eating right would help my weight loss, but so far it's been nothing.

Any advice/help? It would be greatly appreciated.
All I want to do is lose about 15lbs in no real set amount of time.

I am planning on going to the beach the first weekend in Aug. but that doesn't mean I'm trying to lose the weight by then.

Thanks in advance!!

spend some time reading the stickied threads in nutrition, on topic and exercise - you'll get a lot of good information that sounds like will help you..

I'd also get an account at or one of the 100s of other free sites on the web and keep track of your calories... that means accurately weighing and measuring portions... while "eating right" is a good thing - calories do matter. so it's helpful to know how much you're taking in..
