Water in my ear

ATTN swimmers

I've had water in my ear since saturday evening. It is now monday morning. I've tried just about everything I know to get it out. Including this drop called "Swimmers Ear".

Anyone have any tricks to unplug my ear?

I've never had water in my ear like this for more than a few hours.

thanks in advance

Tilt your head to the side and gently pull straight down(in relation to your head) on your earlobe. Always works for me

Have you tried holding your nose and blowing? I used to get water on the ear all the time and worked for me.

done that. Also tried Gooch's suggestion, a squeegie thing with a warm water / peroxide solution, slapping myself in the side of the head, cupping my hand over my ear to try and suck the water out, etc. etc.

I'm hoping this will go away soon. Its driving me nuts. LOL
I'm looking for a more unconventional solution.:p

thanks though. I appreciate everyones responses except FF's :p

maybe call your doctor and ask them if there's something you could do on your own without having to go in and see them. but, if your ear really starts to bother you, you may have to go in. that happened to me once. they didn't get the water out, but gave me drops.

Geesh: :( I FEAR I have too much water in my EAR from too much BEER.

Now I cannot HEAR.

Now, I ask my PEERS to help put away my TEARS, to clear my EARS and make the pain DISAPPEAR.

OH!....I have one benefit: I cannot HEAR my "wifey DEAR" too CLEAR. This is cool, so I PERSEVERE.

I'm going to be pissed if I have to go to the docs again for something so stupid.

What did he/she tell you?

You could get an ear infection (if not already), and you may need some meds to clear this up........

What did the doc tell you......dang it.....:)

I just went to the doc for my neck / shoulder last week. That was a pinched nerve. That feels great now. I'd hate to have to go back again.

If this ear would just pop it would be the equivalent of a multiple orgasm.

That's happened to me a few times, and I just had to wait a few days for it to make its way out.

Hope you get some relief soon. I hate that feeling! :(

Well, It seems Big-T personally took care of that at your personal expense: :)

Just be careful with it, because it can lead to an ear infection. Its better to be safe, spend a few bucks on a visit, then let it fester and get worse.

Get your arse to a doc, and have him look around in your canal. For example, sometimes when the ear drum gets inflammed you can feel your blood pumping inside with every heart beat, and feel some pressure.....

Stop messing around.........or I have Big-T do the other ear......too, and then you will really Boo-hoo. ;)

Best wishes

It sounds like you have a buildup of ear wax and the water is filling in the spot between the wax. No biggie. I get it too.

Go to your local pharmacy and buy an ear plunger. Lie on your side with one ear point skyward. Pour some olive oil in your ear and leave it there for 10 minutes. Then fill up the plunger with warm/hot water - as hot as you can stand - and blow that s--t out! It won't hurt you, but may make you a little dizzy - it does me. Repeat on that ear. Then, do the same to the other ear.

You owe me a fishing trip in Michigan when I go there next June if this works, which I know it will.

Olive oil eh? I'll try it. I have an ear plunger

I'll take you fishing just lemme know next time you're up this way. Maybe I'll take your Floridian ass out on the ice. LOL

If you can handle the adrenaline rush when a pressure crack goes right underneath you.:)

When taking a shower, lightly tilt your head to allow warm (body temp) water to run in. Never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, did I mention never ever put an object such as a Q-Tip, candle stick, or oil into your ear no matter how good it sounds.

Also, when swimming, the two most important things besides your eyes to protect is your nose and ears. Always wear a full face mask for extended swims or at least a nose plug and some gel ear plugs you can buy for like 30 cents. Remember, people pee in the pool. And not only that, if young children are in the water, they tend not to wipe fully after using the bathroom.
