Wanna get slim for army

Hey guys!
I have cleared the written exam for getting into army and have to face the physical test. I have a good stamina. I am currently weighing 67 kgs at 5'8'' height. I need to lose about 8 kgs. Need some tips especially on how to do PULL UPS, I can't do even one though i can do 30 push ups at one time.

If you cannot do any pull-ups, you should try "negatives". Negatives are half pull-ups. All you have to do is get your chin over the bar by standing on something or having spotter push you over the bar. Then, you slowly lower yourself all the way down - let your arms hang grasping the bar fully stretched. Keep your feet up and fight gravity for a count of 5 seconds. This will get your arms used to supporting your weight. Hope these helps.

The main muscle group used in pull ups is the Latissimus Dorsi. If you use other easier exercises to work this muscle group you will eventually build up your strength in order to be able to do pull ups as well. Other exercises which target the Latissimus Dorsi muscles are: Lat pull downs, one arm dumbbell rows, seated rows using weights machine, bent arm barbell pullover and overhead slams using medicine ball. I am sure there's more, but those will definitely get you started. Make sure you are constantly increasing either your weight or your number of reps, so that you know you are increasing in strength. It will take some time, but eventually your muscles will get stronger.
