M 37 years old .I just started working out and reducing my food since last week. I lost only 1 kg which i feel it's not fare especially that i do a tough one hour training (TAE-BO or STEP).My friend suggest i should go for only 1 hour walk every day until i drop 10 KG .I feel good after my training and i lost inches but I’m not happy with the amount of weight i lost .Most ppl who started working out for the first time lost 4 kg in a week. I know I’m gaining muscle but i want my weight to go down. Should i follow my friend suggestions?

I think mixing up your workout is important, if you repeat the same work out consistently you will begin to plateau. But for now, if you're losing don't worry about it too much. If your weight loss begins to plateau perhaps you should consider changing your exercise routine.

I'm working with an exercise tape called slim in 6. Recommended by p90x (Working my way up to that type of fitness) and man it makes me sweaty by the end. Super sweaty. 25 minutes and it's supposed to be low-impact, but damn am I sweaty by the time I'm done with it. I'm also pretty out of shape.

I've heard of tae-bo, but I'm honestly not sure. My bro did tae-bo at least a couple of times. I don't know if it helped him out. He didn't lose any weight but I don't know how hard he worked either.

It probably took a while to gain the weight, so it will take a while to loose it. Try not to focus on the number on the scale too much at the beginning, you should try to focus on creating an exercise habit that you can commit to for the long haul. The best exercise for you to do is something that you like that you will stick with. Slow and steady will win this race. Having patience is one of the hardest things to do when starting on the weight loss journey. I agree with Sneyz, variety is a good thing to have in your workouts!

One of my favorite quotes (and I am sorry I don't know the author, but it is from the book Hunter in the Dark) is "Life isn't fair or unfair, it just is." Don't compare yourself with others, try to compare the new you to the old you and work on getting better every day. Some of the best changes in people aren't the ones that everyone can see.
