hello!
I'm new to this forum and I happy to be a member, everyone seem's so nice an friendly!

I have about 20 pounds of weight to loose( I'm about 155 pounds and my goal is 135) that I've gained throught emotional eating during my adolescence( tough times...as for alot of you I'm sure :) )
I'm the girl who has suscribed 4-5 times to gyms and has always quit after 1 or 2 months. So I guess i'm not a gym kinda girl...;)
I eat very well ( vegys and fruit, whole grains, almost no meat or junk food) but I've never been active and I so frustrated of being so godamed TIRED all the time!! I only 23 by I often feel like an old lady, my metabolism is sooooo sloooow!! so..enough wining.

My goal is to try to walk every day for about an hour, or at least 30min if I don't have alot of time. Walking is suppose to be one of the best exersice for fat loss and for gaining energy.
Today is my first day, it's minus 28 degrees outside( I live in quebec! ) but the cold isn't gonna stop me!

Dress warmly , in layers, and wear appropriate footwear if it's icy...

Also check the weight training threads in the exercise forum and use that to supplement your walking.

I'm abig advocate of walking... but weight traninnig on top is even better..

wow, quick reply!! :)

thank u for the advice! and i do plan do to some weight training in the future but
for now my goal is to do an exercise I will do REGULARLY, cause I'm the champion of failed exercise programs, I set goals that are way too high and loose my motivation within 2 months.
This time I wanna start slow and last!:willy_nilly:

Starting somewhere is a great place to start...

I've read often that it takes 28 days to build a habit.. so starting your walking habit - each day you do it - put a gold star or afancy stamp on a calender wheny ou hit the 28 days -give yourself a reward...

Have fun walking..
