Video Games and Weight Loss plus Muscle Growth? Possible? It Is

My mother always told me playing video games would turn me into a couch potato, and it did for the last 3 and a half years, until I had a great idea. I don't like exercising, but I enjoy playing video games. Common problems with video gamers are back problems, muscles tightening up, and frequent weight gain problems. I found a way to lose weight, build up muscle strength, and play video games still.

I put a 32" flat screen in front of my parent's workout area and hooked my XBOX 360 up to it. Whenever I play games, I am usually sitting on my exercise bike biking while playing. I have lost 10 pounds over a course of a month doing this, and my legs feel stronger. The longest I have ever gone is six hours of continuous biking and playing video games, only getting up between Call of Duty matches to stretch and drink water. I wouldn't recommend doing this if you get dizzy reading in a car, because it can have the same effect. I also wouldn't recommend doing this while walking on a treadmill, as it could cause you to lose your balance and hurt yourself.

Is this the best way to lose weight and gain muscle? No, but for me it works quite well.

NOTE: I also don't recommend playing video games for six hours straight, as it can damage eyesight. I recommend playing for 30 minutes, and then getting up and walking around and stretching.

Anyone ever tried this?

You might think of this piece of equipment as being a little "girly" but it works very well. I have a mini stepper that I use. It's hard to keep my balance or give full attention to what I'm playing but it works! I watch movies while I do cardio as well. However, it won't work for when I need to lift. I think a bike would be ideal.
