A bit about me:
I am a 38 year old female with a passion for snacking. For 3 years I spent a lot … no make that A LOT of time playing world of warcraft. I used to snack on sweeties and chocolate whilst playing (raid food) and slowly gained weight along with lots of shiny epics! I did not really notice the weight gain until about a year ago at my dads 60th – checking out the photos of me next to my sister I looked like jabba the hut and I was pissed off that I had not seen it sooner. I gave up playing WoW and started my weight loss journey. I have successfully managed to cut out my chocolate "friends" over the past year, and now snack on healthier fruit. At my heaviest I was weighing in at 172 pounds (12 Stone 4) at 5ft 3 I had a BMI of obese. By healthy eating, cutting out all processed food and naughty food like chocolate
I have managed to get to 151 pounds (as of my weigh in last Saturday).
However it is not all good in my house today…… I did a sneaky mid week weigh in and was very annoyed to see that I had put on 2lb and was back at 153 pounds. I guess the real reason I am annoyed is that I am so good with my food now and I thought I was doing so well and if I put on 2lb being good my ‘evil’ side thinks if I am going to gain despite being good - what is the bloody point? - I could have had something better than an effing snack a jack!
Perhaps my body is rebelling against me as I am now officially a boring bastard! I am not eating cakes, sweets or chocolate and over analyse everything I buy in the supermarket - it takes freaking ages to get the weekly shop done and by the time I get to the checkout my trolley looks like something a Hollywood starlet would be proud of!
So I must be doing something wrong, somewhere along the line I am fucking up without meaning to.
Here are the starting stats as of today – I used the embarrassing bodies health checker for the stats:
BMR: 1427
Daily calorie needs: 2212 (I assume this is to maintain the weight I am.. so anything under should be good right?)
Lean body mass: 111
Body Fat % : 27
Those last two look fairly slender – I will retake next week and check, especially as my stand on scales at home say I am 34% body fat.
Time to stop playing on their website and knuckle down to logging a food diary
This is yesterday:
Breakfast
Weetabix minis (fruit and nut) with semi skimmed milk - 149
Snack
2 Satsumas - 50
Lunch
Ham and tomato sandwich on seeded wholemeal bread – 300 (guesstimate)
Yoghurt - 158
Banana - 143
Apple - 53
Cereal bar - 109
Snack
Satsuma - 25
Dinner
Salmon - 215
Rice - 199
Mixed Veg - 59
Low fat greek yoghurt and fruit (banana, 6 grapes, 4 strawberries, 5 raspberries) – 300 (guesstimate – the yoghurt is 100)
Final snack
2 x snack a jack – 102
Grand total = 1862!! - much more than I thought but still under the colossal 2212 calories I need to maintain and certainly not enough to warrant a 2lb gain.
Maybe fruit is just as evil as a share pack of malteasers!
