Very quick rest question

I've learnt from the archives that cardio should not effect my muscles building in their rest times.
I did weights for my legs yesterday, and they are quite sore. Can someone quickly explain to me why a hour's cardio today (bike + elliptical) wouldn't effect their resting/building time?

Not really up on this but i wouldn't do cardio if my legs were sore from a lift. Some say that you don't need cardio, others use HIIT and others LISS lol Its trial and error and what you enjoy doing. I would say if you like it do it. It will only make your heart stronger.

Yeah :)
I can tell from what the knowledgeable people say that even when I do verse up on the theory side there will still be some trial and error. It takes courage to try working out in a way that might not be very efficient :)
I just bought my dad a gym membership and he's doing full body weights every day. I told him I've read that doing that can be counterproductive but he doesn't want to hear about it. I know how he feels. That honeymoon period of first beginning to exercise (which I myself am still not past) is awesome.

Yeah you shouldn't do full body workouts everyday. It frankly a waste of time lol

Tell him to read that book you bought and/or read the reviews on amazon. Its a good book but the looks of things but i never read it myself.

I used the Max OT routine to build my new regiment with a few changes. That and Tony's book seem to be pretty popular on the fitness forums i visit.

I sent you a PM regarding this.

I've told him, but unfortunately he hates reading. So I'm going to do the reading for him and send him a summary. Eventually (like I am just beginning to) he will reach the point where he decides it's time to apply form and structure to his workout routine.

Could you tell me the name of Tony's book? I'm looking into everything I can.
