I have been lifting weights for three times a week for about 4 months and I have to say I'm not too amazed with the results. I suppose I am doing something wrong, so maybe someone here can spot my problem.
First off, I work out around 11:00am (MWF) and drink about 44g of protein mixed with 5g Creatine approx. thirty minutes before I leave home. I spend about a full hour at the gym, doing everything. I work everything form pecks to back to arms to legs. By the time I leave, my body feels so "numb" that I can barely feel the steering wheel on the drive home. When I do get home, I drink down another 44g of protein (this time mixed with 5g of Glutamine). Here is whats weird, by this time, I feel completely fine, like I could go lift again. When I wake up on the days in between I'm rarely sore. Because of this, I do not drink protein on the days that I do not lift. I have been doing this for about 4 months and have gained only 10 pounds.
Because I am not sore, I figure that my muscles are healed enough already for me to lift again, so I'm thinking of lifting 5 times a week. If I do this, I will also drink twice as much protein as I do now (making 176g a day of whey alone; 5 times a week instead of 3). Is this a bad move? If anyone has something to suggest other than this, please point out the flaw I have in my routine.
