Up and Down

Well I have really been trying hard since Sept. 19th and My weight is going up and down and I have been on a 1300 calories but not making myself stay on the stick 1300 but not to go over 1800a day. I mostly stay within 1300-1500 a day. I don't count on weekends but do try to watch what I eat.
I walk about 5 days a week anywhere from 1 to 3 miles a day. As well as do sitting ball exercise just dancing while sitting on the ball 30 mins. to a hour. I also workout with dumbbells about 30 mins. to a hour. And I know its hard but I have not see the weight come off as much as I have seen inches in my thighs, waist, and chest. I make sure I am not trying to make myself depressed to much about the pounds not coming off. I keep a journal and have the software to track everything. So I can go back and look how I am doing. But being here will help me motivate myself as well. I have never wanted to loose this weight so bad. I sit and cry when I think about how big I am. I look like a square in the mirror but the side view I look like I am pregnant. I cant tell you how many times I have been asked when I am due.

Today has not been easy. I am wearing my pedometer to make sure I can see how far I have walked today. I had to meet my daughter in town so I am hungry and really haven't had a chance to do any real kind of workout. I am gonna try here in a bit to get a mile in on the treadmill.I have 485 cal's for today left but then again I have not imputed any exercise for today. I am just having a hard time getting motivated to get up and do it. I am tired been staying up later watching my new momma to be to ensure she has me their in case she goes into labor. I am just drained right now think from not getting enough sleep.

welcome to the forum...i am new too..

we just have to keep on keepin' on..one day at a time...one bite at a time

best of luck

Good job! Just try to improve on something with each workout session. For ex, if you did 10 reps last time, try to do 12. Or, if you have resistance of 2 during your last treadmill session, bring it up to 3 for a while. I have been doing that with my treadmill work, increasing the incline or the speed, and I tell you I feel so good when I'm done!

Keep up the great work! I'm new here, too, and I know we can do it!

Went to the Doctor yesterday and I am down to 258 pounds YEAH!! I am finally out of the 260's!!!

She said I was doing well and keep it up. But she did tell me as I figured that she was pretty sure I had a hernia also. She is gonna send me for a MRI to check it. I am suppose to get my gallbladder removed also but rethinking that due to the fact that since I have really been watching what I eat I have not had a bunch of flair ups anymore.

I go back next month so I will see what I weight then. Maybe I will just not weight till then. Hubby is also seeing the changes in my body shape !!!!!

A hernia! Ouch! I'm so sorry! I had my gall bladder removed and since then I have had issues. The pain associated with gall stones is obvoiously gone, but now I have something like IBS or Crohne's....ugh. Best of luck to you!!!

CONGRATS on the weight loss, too!!! YAY!!

Well out of town with hubby for the week and thank god the hotel has a fitness room. I went to wally world and bought myself some low fat and low calorie foods to snack on. Yesterday on the way down here I did not do so well on eating well to much on the road.

I do feel a bit better today cause I got my work out on some nice equipment making me rethink the treadmill I currently have. No scale here either so I will have to weight when I get home and see how I did this week.

Hubby doesn't want me to work on my core to much for fear of the hernia thing. So with that I feel a bit deprived in my workout.

All in all having a pretty good day. :D

Well Haven't been around much because of hubby out of town all the time and I hit a slump of depression about never seeing him and let myself get a bit off my diet but I am bouncing back. Its hard especially the day he leaves. I was soo depressed last time I found a king size Hershey bar after he left and just ate it. It hard on both of us but he has to work. I either have nightmares or cant sleep at all when he is gone and he just doesn't sleep at all either. We have been together for 20yrs and are use to having each other around. We have a good relationship we rarely fight or argue. So being that we get along so well it just makes it hard for us. But hubby and I were thinking if I have a herina and they have to repair it anyhow why not just go ahead and get a tummy tuck when they repair the herina. My stomach is flat under all that loose belly fat and he said if I had that done then I could firm everything else up. But I do have alot of loose drooping belly. I absolutely HATE how my belly sticks out like I am pregnant again.
Anyhow I am depressed but still trying to hang in there and get this weight off.

Going to the Doctor today at 10:30 and hopefully I have lost more weight. And maybe I can get some more info on my hernia situation.

I know I have not been here in a while but I got off track for a bit due to all the traveling with hubby. But I am back on track and trying to keep loosing.
I did not gain any weight while I was off track because I did try to keep up the exercise.

I have lost a additional few pounds and doctor is saying I have to have gallbladder surgery.

He said he didnt think I had a hernia but would look around while he was in there but that the gallbladder surgery would not alleviate all my symptoms because there was something else going on. But he is gonna look when he takes my gallbladder out and see.

As soon as I get the deductible together I will schedule my surgery. Then I have got to go on a 10 day Atkins Liquid diet.

We did talk about me getting the Lap band surgery if I was not happy with my weight loss after all is said and done. My Ins will pay for it but it take about 6 months to get approved for it.

I still have not decided for sure if I would do it or not even if I did not loose the weight I wanted.

Any Pros and Cons to it if someone has had it?

Gallbladder surgery

Ok well yesterday I setup the surgery for my gallbladder surgery. I was worried with my anniversary coming up and hubby birthday as well as mine.
I invested in a steamer for my veggies. I also bought a ab roller to help me when I dread doing the crunches. I also bought a home gym.

I was told if I don't loose at least 12 lbs between March 6 and March 16 he will not be able to do the Surgery.

I will be on a liquid diet also no Food because they want my liver where they can move it out of the way. I have been eating lost of fresh fruit for snacks and already doing some Atkins shakes to help me along.

I hate being put under but I also scares me that I don't want to know what is going on too. My daughter told me she would work out with me too since 12 lbs if a good amount of weight to loose in 10 days.

I really want to loose the weight bad I dont want to be 40 and still be as big as I am. I really wanted to be thin for hubby and I anniversary this year but I am still hold in the 200 lbs.

Oh and I am also using the patch to quit smoking starting today too. I did smoke a cig this morning cause I knew it would take a while to get the nicotine in my system so to kick start me I did smoke one but have not smoke any while I have the patch on.

Wish me luck I really need to loose the weight and quit smoking before Gallbladder Surgery.

I had my gallbladder out last year and I was way heavier then than you are now (I was about 315-320 back then). It surprises me that your doctor would require you to lose that much weight in a 10 day period. Based on the talk of moving your liver around, it sounds like they are doing an open procedure rather than laproscopic... the recovery time for that is significantly longer. It will probably be a few months before you'll be using your ab roller again. :/

Personally, I would go for a second opinion before agreeing to an open procedure.

On the up side, getting rid of a gallbladder full of stones will make you feel a lot better. I know it did wonders for me.

No its suppose to be a laproscopic surgery. But he did say I have other stuff going on more than likely than a Gallbladder so he is going to look around while he is in there. But this surgeon requirements apparently for my weight is loose at least 12lbs.

Which I despise his little lady that setups the diet plans cause she acts like it is disgusting to be fat. I could care less for that woman. She is just one of those people that never have any encouraging words just hurtful ones.

And never mind the fact that I have already lost 22 pounds. I will just be glad when its all over. I have had two test that confirmed I needed my gallbladder removed. I been dealing with the Gallbladder that I know of for 2 years. I am sure even before that is what has been causing me to feel awful for years.

Find a different surgeon, IMO. Surgery is stressful enough, you really don't need the added stress of dropping a huge amount of weight in a very short time and dealing with office staff that make you feel bad about yourself. You don't have to settle for that kind of treatment, and you should definitely give some feedback to this surgeon about his staff's behavior.

Granted, I am just some stranger on the internet, so you have to do what you feel is best. :)

Well I am a bit disgusted with no show of weight loss for the last two weeks really. I have added weight training with upper and lower body workouts.

I do the Wii Fit for at least 30 mins a day of boxing and aerobic step I walk for at least a mile a day or more if you count the pedometer reading plus I am watching what I eat why am I not loosing any weight?

With all this extra exercise and watching what I eat I am really worried now that that ten day diet I am not gonna loose any weight and then I will not be able to get my surgery done and over with.

I am soooooooooo Frustrated right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I am nervous as I can be since I will have to loose a certain amount of weight by the 16th of this month.

But I did find out why he is requiring that I do the liquid diet. He discovered that in doing a liquid diet on his lap band patients made it so much easier to see inside you and more room to work. So seeing that it will help me during surgery so I don't have a problem but I don't see that if I don't loose 12lbs they he wont be able to preform the surgery.

I think the nurses just thought that maybe I was doing the lap band surgery.

But it sure makes it harder when you feel you are under the gun to have to loose 12lbs in 10 days.

I start my diet On March 6th. I go to the doc and get weight in and then I will have to go by there again on March 16th and get weight again the day before my surgery. I can not eat anything after midnight, which is really not a problem considering I will be on a liquid diet. LOL

Surgery itself just scares me anyhow so I am antsy. I know that I will be fine but it does nothing to tell myself to settle my nerves.

crossing my fingers and toes LOL

ok i am on my liquid diet and it is horrible............ I have been on it for 6 days and only after 4 days I had only lost 2 lbs so I call the doctors office and they told me to NOT drink Juice they said I could have. Main reason it has 27 grams of sugar in every glass and it supposedly was counter reacting my weight loss.

Ok so she also told me to walk my butt off and work out on my weight bench and as of today I have lost a total of 6 of the 12 pounds required for my doctor to do the surgery(bull crap I think)
This is VERY stressful to HAVE TO lose 12lbs. for this doctor if I had know before hand that it was a extremely strict about the weight loss I probably would have just picked another doctor.
I can't afford to have the surgery pushed back again and I def DO NOT want to go on another liquid diet.

So I am really busting my butt to make sure I meet the 12lbs requirement he has set.
The nurse told me to add more water too, bust my butt working out and we would get a weight in tomorrow just to see where I am at.
I set on my Wii to loose 15 pounds to give me a little bit of room but I really never expect to loose 15 pounds in 10 days.

I go to bed with my stomach growling and hungry and plus I am getting headaches as well.
They don't care though they just want me to loose the 12 pounds.

I am eating (ummm I mean drinking Grrrrrrrrrrr.......) about 800 calories a day.

Well that is my rant for today anyone got any ideals on how I can loose another 6 pounds by this coming Monday?

Something that will burn the calories very well.
