unsure why weight won't come off...

I am 20 years old and after my 1st year in college i came home and oddly i gained weight by coming back. I ate horribly in school but kept up with exercise and since ive been home for the summer I have exercised at least an hour every day without fail. My routine involves running 2 miles, walking 1 and jogging half a mile and fterwards I rollerblade and somedays I switch it up and take a class at the gym and workout there.I have not even lost a pound but instead gained 3 and haven't seen any improvement at all. I eat healthy and watch everything that I even think of going in my mouth. I was wondering in anyone else had this problem and if so will the exercise kick in and help me lose weight?

OMG!!! Yes MEEEE....I do! I was so frustrated about not losing any weight after 2 months of walking and working out every day and restricting calories. I was at war with my scale. Then I started just weighing myself every two weeks, but started to judge my progress other ways. The way my clothes fit, my blood pressure, how I am starting to see collar bones that used to be hidden, and so on. I just was able to go from a womens XL to L and got back into a comfortable size 16 instead of 18. The biggest change is when I saw that my blood pressure had gone from 139/94 to 124/90. Even with all of these changes my scale has shown only about a 4lb loss.....in 2 months?!?! I don't really get it, but it is extremely annoying somedays. I think the important thing is not to give up or restrict calories to the point of where your body thinks it's starving. I was only eating 1200 cals and then someone on here told me to go up to 1600. Just that little change made the scale move. Granted it was only 4 lbs, but I'll take it. Good luck!

How many calories per day are you eating? How does that divide up into carbs/protein/fat?

If you're not losing weight - and are gaining - it's about 99% certain that it's what you're eating. It's possible to eat too much healthy food, just as easily as you can eat too much unhealthy food.

I'm so glad i'm not alone! I feel like i do so much and no weight comes off! How much exercising per day did you do?

And I eat about 1400 calories a day mostly salads and proteins an a small amount of carbs.

I was walking anywhere from 30-60 minutes everyday. That doesn't sound like much, but I usually have to walk pretty fast because I would walk either on my break or with my big impatient dog. Then I started lifting light weights because I thought it would help me lose weight faster. nope. I forgot to mention that I started at 234 and got to 220 like is was nothing. I mean the first 14 lbs just fell off. I was stuck at 220 for 2 weeks and that's when I started lifting the weights and so on. Nothing I did made the scale move. Someone told me that I may not be eating enough because I was trying to stick to 1200 cals. I went to 1400 and now I'm at 1600. This seems to be helping becuase I did lose 4 lbs, but it took almost 3 months!! Like I said before, I had to start charting my progress other ways or I was about to go insane. You could get a measuring tape and chart inches instead of weight. I'm sure you are smaller than when you started no matter what the scale says.

I've done that too Mylee! I've gained a couple of pounds since I started weight trainning too.. but my back fat is gone and my legs aren't as flabby and my bat wings are starting to shrink.. my waist is the same but I think I've read before somewhere that belly fat is usually the last to go. As long as its not getting bigger I won't get upset.
