Hey guys....
This is my first post here and I am desperate. Over the past 6 monthes I haver gained 20+ pounds and I can't find a sigle reason why. My pants aren't fitting anymore and I feal like crap most of the time. My diet hasn't really changed at all. My activity hasn't really decreased either. I am not sure what is causing this unexplained weight gain, but everyt 1-2 weeks I jump up anoterh 2-3 pounds. Does anyone here know what might be causing this. I would really love any help on this matter.

Thank you

Any possibility that you started on birth control pills or you got an IUD with hormones?

No chance you could be pregnant?

Have you had your thyroid tested?

no sorry about that....perhaps I posted this in the wrong section.....I'm a 6 foot tall dude currently weighing 217...its really freaking me out, so I turned to a few forums for some suggestion.

how old are you?

did you have your thyroid checked?

I had gained 20 lbs in 2 months due to Lyme Disease.

Perhaps you should go to the doctor. When I had my recent sudden weight gain, I went to the doctor. There was no medical reason, I was just blind to the fact that I ate more than I had in the past. It was so gradual I hadn't noticed.

Deffinitely go to the doctor. Also, keep a food diary for a couple of weeks to be absolutely CERTAIN you are not taking in more calories than usual.

God Bless,

Yes...I think you are right...On Monday, I am going to make an appointment to see my doctor. I like the food diary idea also, but I don't really know how to track calorie intake on home cooked dinners that my wife makes.
I am 27 years old

You can go to fitday.com and just do a search for the different food items that are contained in the meal (dont forget the important part: the amount and type of fat used in the cooking). The easiest is to pick all the foods first (either off the search menu or you can enter the information from the package) and then after everything is in, I go back and pick the right portion sizes. This way saves a lot of time. Its still time consuming and a pain, but well worth it to know whether you're simply overeating or there's something medically going on. This way you can prove to your doctor you're not overeating if that's the case, as that will surely be the doctor's first impression. Its also good to spend the time calculating what you ate so you yourself learn how many calories foods have in order to help you avoid the high calorie items in the future.
