Type 1 diabetic

So I am type 1 diabetic on insulin pump. I am finding losing weight really hard - does any other type 1 have similar experience? I am finding I have to give insulin for protein as well as carbs - since I reduced carbs to under 50- which is frustrating. Just wondering if any other diabetics out there have advice.
