so i just joined today. I just started exercising and dieting two weeks ago. I do 3miles a day 7 days a week on the treadmill. I decreased my calorie intake to 1700. my goal it to lose 20-25 pounds in 3 months. I have not lost any weight yet which is so frustrating!!!! but i keep telling myself that i am building muscle or retaining water. I had my husband hide the scale because i cant help but to get on it every morning, which i know is stupid it's not like its going to get lower everyday. However it is still frustrating doing all of that and not seeing any results. I just keep telling myself it "it will happen, just give it more time". i hope so!!

Hello Ericaleve,

Welcome to the forum! I think you'll find that there are alot of very supportive people here! This weightloss thing is a journey, not an event...hate that, but I've found it to be true! It's not a race...it really is a lifestyle change (hate that too!). Keep up the exericse..it really does help. It may not feel like it right now, but it is the right thing to do. Your goal weight is good...not sure about the timing though, might be a little aggressive...it depends on how much you wiegh now. I've been on this journey for 11 months and, no matter what you read or want, it just takes time, perserverence and patience (sucks, but true!) Some things I do to help me: I listen to fat2fitradio.com podcasts while I exercise and I'm doing a food and exercise diary in myfitnesspas.com (feel free to "friend me" my name is scbibhouse on there, just like here)..both of these other tools are helping me...and I need all the help I can get!

Just know that we are all on the same journey...it's not a race..hard to remember, but so very important!

Good luck and look forward to seeing your progress!

Sarah

Hey welcome to the forum dear!!

Oh god, im used to be the same, constantly hopping on the scale to see if the number was changing. Your husband was smart hiding it on you!! haha, its and unhealthy obsession getting on it everyday, once a week is enough!!:):)

Also would you mind sharing, what age, weight and height you are?? and also what is your goal weight?

You sound like you have a great plan, best of luck chick cant wait to see the more updates:)xxx

thank you. I'm 25 years old. I'm 5'7 and i weighed 168 starting out and today it has been 3 weeks and i have lost 4 pounds so I'm 164 now. I wish it was a little bit more cause four pounds in 3 weeks isn't a whole lot but again at the same time i know i am building muscle. I'm not sure what my goal is as far as a number on a scale. For me it's really about looking in the mirror and liking what i see. I think somewhere between 140-145 is where I want to be. Before i had my second son i weighed 148 and i felt like then i wouldn't mind losing a few pounds but now that i think about it back then i never worked out so it wasn't about losing weight but more about toning up. So now than I'm working out i could look much different at 148 then i did back then not ever having worked out. I took all my measurements cause i heard that its a better way to tell that what your doing is working rather then just a number on the scale. I have also been taking pictures of myself every week cause i think its easier to see a difference in pictures rather then just looking in the mirror everyday.
