Train for weight lose during the first part of the day and then switch over to strength training later in the same day? I'm not sure if it would work like that.
I'm getting my workout/lifting plan written for the summer offseason from track and field. My main focus is on the weight training, but I want to do some cardio and HIIT training during the summer. I'm not fat but I'd like to lose some weight since I already have the muscle definition.
Obviously I don't lift and throw everyday, but this is what a typical day might look like:
6:00am-2:30pm working
3:00pm throws practice
4:30pm cardio
8:00pm weight training
This is the part where I'm not sure if it's able to do two things in one day: can I watch my calories during the day up until I do cardio to trim down on body fat? I'm hoping the three or so hours I have between cardio and weight training is enough of a rest. I'd eat beforehand so I'd be refueled after the cardio session. Then after lifting, I'd do ahead with some sort of protein recovery drink to help repair and also build up my muscles.
Exercise science is still rather new to me. I appreciate the thoughts or advice on the matter. Thanks.
