Two Questions

Hello to everyone! This is my first post and I just want to know...Is it just me or is the "mom belly" impossible to flatten after pregnancy. My son is eight months old and very high strung, so unfortunately I was unable to become serious about weight loss until about a month and a half ago. My frustration has been centered lately on the fact that although I am back down to my pre-pregnancy weight, I still have a little pooch in my belly that was definitely not there before! Even my clothes that once fit perfectly are fitting me a little strange. (It kind of feels like they sit differently). Is this common among new mom's trying to lose weight through diet and exercise?

Also, I was wondering if trying to balance exercising, cutting calories, being a good mom and wife can leave you feeling incredibly drained and cranky by the end of the day?

It's not just you. Believe me, I am STILL trying to get my belly back. I do have several friends that swear by crunches. They all look great and that's the advice they gave me. Now only if I could just do it:)

My baby is 5 months old and except for the stretchmarks, my belly is looking pretty good. I did have, what I called a "butt" on my lower tummy. I called it that because it kind of hung and it had aspot in the middle that went in, like a butt crack only not nearly as deep. But after weight loss and exercise my tummy is looking pretty flat. It's not to the point where I want it to get, but my expectations are not unrealistic. I've accepted the fact that after skin and muscles being stretched to the extreme like they are during pregnancy, that it will never be perfect again. I have heard that if you don't get rid of your post partum pouch by the time your baby is 6 months old then it will be permanent, so I'm working hard to get rid of mine before my time's up! lol. Of course, that is probably not true.

I refuse to believe that's true. My children are 3 and 1...geesh! hehehehehe!

Thanks for the advice Newmommy1 and for the all the other support from everyone else. It feels nice to hear that other moms out there are able to get their tummies back down. I think im pretty close, Im gonna have to post some pictures in a month or so. Thanks again everyone.
